Fans of Incest Stories, what do incest stories have that keep you coming back? What is so enticing about them to you?

There have been a few threads on this over the past few years, and the one thing I notice is people seem to be OK with siblings of mother/son, but when father/daughter shows up a line in the sand seems to get drawn. I guess we like our taboo, but not too taboo.

Don't see how it's any different. Think i enjoyed some ones from Beating off Bob, which a cheerleader enjoyed watching her dad get with each of her friends at a pool party before sleeping with him herself. I'd rather enjoy seeing more from the other side.

I’m not so sure - as stand alone stories maybe what you say is true, But with whole family dynamics, it’s normally included and they’re pretty accepted..

Not into incest so disregard if that breaks the parameters of the thread, but one hypothesis I heard of is that incest has guaranteed connection built in.

One of the challenges of human mating behaviour is that you have to connect to other people. With all the frictions and potential of rejection.

But with incest, there is always at least one connection, 100% guaranteed. Even if you fight with your family or siblings, even if you fly to another planet, they will always, always be family, no matter what. They will always remain connected to you whether you like it or not.

But in a story, that makes the idea of incest inherently pleasant and non-threatening, to most fans. No amount of violence or extreme kink is as scary and potentially off-putting as the idea that someone might stranger-zone you. Or so the hypothesis goes.

There's also the possibility of ruining what was a normal relationship, so in some cases pretending it never happened or separating what happens when they slip into your bed as a separate event/space/person even when you know it's them... Or they will allow a one-time event and going further is a total breech of trust.

Honestly I'd prefer more gentle ones where it's at least semi-consensual or dubious-consensual, and later openly consensual. There's at least one story where the state of everything was vague and from the boy's point of view, and only at the end when his dad called the police and sent him to jail did it become apparent I'd been reading a full rape story rather than more in what I'd like, which then leaves me feeling dirty.

A good incest story deals with how they overcome the barrier. You get reluctance, guilt, concern, consideration, and finally acceptance. I like stories that have emotional weight, and display that weight. “I felt guilty but she touched my dick and I couldn’t help myself.” Is not good incest. 500-1000 words of him avoiding his sister and being very careful around her because of his own guilt or fear of what she is doing, then having an emotional breakthrough that brings them closer together is good incest.
I’m always curios what the catalyst is. My favorite stories have a 3rd party instigator or facilitator.

I don’t think I can really consider myself “a fan” of incest, but I’m definitely tired of the same old porn storyline.
I think incest stories add a new layer and variety to the story. The “taboo” aspect is like doing it in a public place and adding a layer of fear or anxiety.

In my experience, characters in incest stories tend to feel more...normal, for lack of a better word.

When I hit up Erotic Couplings or Group Sex (my other favorite categories) I feel like the characters all tend to be built like porn stars. Maybe I've just got bad luck, but I feel like I'll start reading and then BAM, girl has G cup tits and the dude a three foot dog (hyperbole for dramatic effect, obviously).

Not to say Incest stories are free of this, too often you find something with a mom who seems like the sort of "milf" the porn industry loves, i.e. always super busty. But, I feel like I see a wider representation of body types in the Incest/Taboo category for some reason.

I also tend to like the build up that other categories often feel lacking in. I'm not reading these things for a quick wank, I've got porn or friends or social media for that. I want to get invested with real characters.

Again, not to say every I/T story meets those qualifications, I've certainly started a few and then gone "oh, it's this shit again" when the daughter has giant tits or some shit like that.

The fascination for me was the "challenge" of it. Anybody, I felt, could write a story where family members are hooking up because, "Wow, horses are hung like my brother and nobody told me...!". But the real trick, where the best stories in the category pull it off, is to give a really good, solid, slow burn reason why family members are hooking up beyond some random physical attribute. Nothing wrong if your kink is, "I love it when moms ride in the back seat on their son's lap!" and you're happy with that simple set-up, but that's not why I write.

I don't read hardly anything in the category anymore, but when I was trying to work out the blueprint for my own category efforts ten years ago, I devoured a number of the other top list tales to see if I could figure out what was going on, then put my own spin on it. But, yeah, for me, the spice is, "Why these two, and why did it have to be these specific two (or three, or whatever)?", and when a story delivers on that in a believable fashion, it hits and it hits hard.

I've got one where the brother and sister are tricked into having sex, poor story in my opinion. Where the bro and sis had sex before the advent of the story, some magical plot bunny happened, and they feel each others orgasms. One where with losing the husband, the son stepping up in his place, and her mental issues, she seea her som as her new man. And one where a guy disovers his missing mom, and then learned her side of the family has ingrained incest, dating back to the medieval times.

Those are low hanging fruit and if you're looking for more, yes, they're an eyeroll.

Something like that could trigger siblings-now parent adult child, I don't think as much-mostly due to age and curiosity. Keep in mind that lit's 18 rules is what makes this seem silly. By 18 many men and women have had sex or if not sex some experience with another person, they've dated and once they have some experience that urge to explore isn't so strong it could affect you within the household. But in real life younger teens with raging hormones can be affected like that and the old 'show me yours I'll show you mine" game could ensue.

That is what makes these things seem silly, its not eh premise, its the rules we work within that make it that way. I've often felt that many readers see the characters as younger, we say 18 maybe they don't think that and that's not on us. Obviously have to be careful here, but there are a lot of stories of siblings experimenting out there. Again, get into mom and son dad daughter, yeah that's not the same.

Or...is it? think about how huge the Milf obsession is in porn. That and the step mom stuff, hot older woman, married to your dad, but not YOUR mom so that's okay. There has to have come a point where to some young men this could get them seeing their mom in a different light. If you have the hot mom, your friends have been kind enough to tell you that and bust your balls about it. See Pete's mom in those shorts and that sports bra? See her by the pool, damn she's fine, man I'd love some of that and she's older, bet she knows how to fuck.

That can get into a guy's head to an extent.

In many examples all A needs is a crack in B, just enough to slide into it and start wreaking havoc.

Its not always in the premise but in the writing.
