Kinks and tags that trump them all

As with most other boundary busters, maybe.

If you're talking about a 50 year old 300 pounder with a thing for diapers, bonnets and pacifiers, it will probably fly.

If you're talking abut a very petite 19 year old regressing in looks and behaviors, not likely.

I have to say I was unaware of the tagging system as a reader on the site for almost 25 years before starting to write. I would choose based on category then title, description and rating. Once I found a story I really liked I would read other things by the author.

I think tags make a big difference for some people in some categories. I read mostly in E&V (hence the anagram of Cathi Wus as my username), where I am not sure they make that much difference, unless you are adding in something like incest, which I do feel is a trump tag as well as category.

Some categories have stories with vastly different content, vastly different types of stories. And there are so many new stories every day, so I use tags to decide whether to even start reading some story.
No tags => it's very unlikely I'll try to read the story, unless I already like the author.

I been using the tags more of a trigger warning now. Since receiving feedback on my ongoing Femdom series expressing deep disappointment over things like non hetero sex and mild forms of cuckoldry, I just wanna let people know up front.

But I get the sense that many readers don't even look at the tags. So I might just put a disclaimer at the very beginning of part one so they can easily avoid a story they're not going to enjoy.

The site has a beta feature that lets you see the story tags when you look at stories in a writer's catalog. So far it only works with standalone stories.

You can activate the option from your Control Panel with Options -> My Options and set "Participate in early site feature versions beta-testing" to "Yes."

That makes the tags more accessible. So far my only complaint is that each tag is a fairly large button. The tag list takes up a lot of room, but you get used to it.

And thanks to @iwatchus for pointing that out.

I’ve been using this feature as well, and I think I like it. The tags do take up more room, which is the trade off. But maybe if they were a smidge smaller in font size…

Edit: well, more like, if the white space margin within was tag were decreased a tad, it could save more space. But what do I know about web standards.
