As an action, you can use "taxi" as nuance. Technically, it's a car service, not a taxi.
What does it do differently than a taxi? I order it, it shows up, it takes me where I want to go, I pay.
Maybe this flies where you are, but here in Gotham City, this is a taxi:

This is an Uber:

So, an unmarked taxi?
By the way, most tend to look more like this.

You know... like.. normal?
Whch is fine, I'd rather ride with that.
Sounds like a party I'd end up want to punch people at.So, for this modern age terminology's sake, when you Uber, you don't taxi, you Uber. If you don't want to be looked at with crazy eyes at the party, you're gonna want to make sure you get up to speed with the lingo.
By the way, I never taxi. One takes a taxi. It's not a verb.
Look, I know what Uber is. I use the service, it's pretty good. It is however exatcly the same service as a call pool for freelance taxi drivers. It just don't want to call itself that because it wants to appear cool. Mission accomplished, I guess.
ps, a Mac is a PC.
