And for today's question (back from my special ops assignment but I'll go ahead and let today be a transition day and answer the question) I'm a mix. I need both times that are highly social and time to wander the desert alone. Too much of either one makes me cranky. Nobody likes me when I'm cranky.... :)
 
I'm probably something of a loner.
I live with my sprog, but she's not here at the weekend. Most weekends I work, but those that I have off I like to spend by myself.
I have a few close friends and my family who I see often, but other than that I like being alone.

My friend recently told me she thinks I'm a social recluse.
I'll take that.

I enjoy the company of others, the energy they create. But I need time to myself, where I can let my mind wander, wrangle with the creative thoughts.
I get a little annoyed if I'm bothered while running in the treadmill. I get really zoned out, lost in the rhythm of my footsteps and music. That's my time.

^^^This pretty much sums me up. Once in a blue moon I'll get the urge to go to a party or a large social event. Otherwise, I'm all about the alone time, with little dollops of family and intimate friends swirled in. :)
 
I would say I am 60/40 with a heavier weighting on the introvert side..I love my friends and family. But crave that me time...huge social gatherings can be fun but they suck the energy right out of me and I need to hide a few days to recharge.
 
I need equal amounts of alone time and social interaction. When I do get together with others, I prefer small groups. At large parties, I tend to find a quiet corner and just wait it out.

I'm a difficult-to-pigeonhole person. I used to be an extreme introvert; as a child, I'd spend a lot of time alone in my room reading books. Now, I hate being on my own. I'm still deeply introspective, but I enjoy being with people (the right people!) much more than before and I sometimes find that I gain energy from it rather than lose energy. That suggests that I've become more extraverted.

I don't think I've completely stopped being shy, but I'm normally capable of projecting a much more confident persona than before. Some people might even describe me as loud! I'd be curious to know how those Listers who have met me in person have perceived me. I'll reluctantly admit that I rather enjoy being in the spotlight, although only when I feel accepted in that role. I'm often at my best when, say, I'm invited to speak in front of a large group of people.

The mix of alone time and people time rarely seems right for me, probably because the effects of each on my enthusiasm and energy levels have become unpredictable. If I feel that I'm on a roll, then I want to spend all of my time with people; if I've lost my confidence, then I want to shut myself away.

I'm a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. But here am I in my little bubble. :D

I need a healthy mix of both. What'a healthy mix? It depends. My job requires a lot of interaction with people. My time off, I want to recharge my energy and get the much needed alone time.

When I was younger, I craved the social interaction with people. I always wanted to be in the mix of things and having a calendar that had no available white spaces. As I've come to be more comfortable with myself, I find that social events for the sake of being seen and hanging out, bores the living daylights out of me. :rolleyes: I prefer to spend my time with people that I enjoy and add to my life. A healthy dose of leave-me-alone does wonders for me. :D

I love the time spent with friends and family, wouldn't give that up. But what what I would like to have more of is time to myself, to get immersed into what I am doing for a few uninterrupted minutes or hours.
