Control

I agree with the un-clarity.
The only thing clear to me is that the Fetish & Sexuality Central is the only place where things are modded actively regarding pictures. That is where the previous control thread disappeared. Although some predecessors were closed due to size issues.
I've seen a lot of confusion, even coming from mods, about the difference between an attached image and hotlinked ones hosted elsewhere. No one's really clear about enforcement and whether the issue is attaching something explicit or making an explicit link visible with IMG tags.
Agreed positivetension, this is more than a little confusing. I've asked various mods and have received conflicting answers. Part of the answer depends on forum segment of the thread. e.g. the GB isn't moderated.

I fear that by bringing this up yet again in this thread, I will be viewed as a wet blanket, a bitch, a spoil sport or a prude. It is merely my intention to help us comply with the terms of service of the Lit site. We are blessed to have this site (free of a subscriber fee and without ads or spam on these boards) and I believe it is therefore, our responsibility to police ourselves and our posting behaviors.

A few points:
1) yes, I agree it is not very clear as what is actively moderated.
2) Some boards are moderated more vigorously and more frequently than others.
3) though I have not personally been in conversation with any of the moderators, it is my understanding that the moderators of these forums take on these responsibilities as VOLUNTEERS. It is therefore not surprising that they are inconsistent and variable over time. They are doing the best they can. We should be grateful for their efforts on our behalf to make this a safe place for the entire community.
4) I may be rather new here, but I lurked the boards for a very long time (years) before I registered. I have observed that the moderators tend to give posters the benefit of the doubt, and are inclined to “look the other way” for infractions that are slight.
5) Lit is hosted in the United States and is therefore subject to the laws of the US regarding the posting of pornographic material. Therefore, while there are a variety of posting rules and guidelines which you can read for yourself and choose to follow or not, the bottom line, because it has to do with the law under which Lit is allowed to operated is this:

Legally, photographs posted on this site may not contain "sexually explicit conduct," which the United States government defines as: actual or simulated
A) sexual intercourse, including genital-genital, oral-genital, anal-genital, or oral-anal, whether between persons of the same or opposite sex;
B) bestiality;
C) masturbation;
D) sadistic or masochistic abuse; or
E) lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person.
The moderator (Lady G) has further clarified that this means no “close-ups, or any pictures where the genitals or pubic area is the center of attention, or part of any simulated masturbation. Artistic full nudes are fine, so long as they aren't spread shots and the person can't be masturbating or simulating masturbation”

I look forward to your posts. I love this thread. :heart: And at least for me, I find less explicit material to be the most arousing. But – that’s just me.

Now there was this guy who had this all worked out.
He PMed me a while ago, several times actually, only I accidentally deleted ALL my PM's...

Short version, that "law" was misquoted from a concept law or something.
But if they want to make it lit rules, sure...

If they then sometimes yes sometimes no moderate those...
To be honest, do as you like, enjoy, and if things get deleted, start over.
If they tell me to stop posting I will, till then... meh.
