Stuff

Good to know. I'll probably move on to that after metal gear. I'm a month in and only 25 percent complete....

This one isn't 80 percent cut scenes so thats nice.

I'm leveling up guys in Warcraft...Legion is coming out, and I did try to get into New Vegas but I just can't do it. Until Dawn on the PS4 was probably one of the best games I've ever seen put together, and even more fun to watch other people play. Inquisition just released its final DLC for that chapter this month, so you can have the whole shebang.

Can't wait for Fallout 4. PUPPY!

Isolated blurt:
VERY frustrating.
My dog keeps chewing & destroying my earbuds. I think he loves the rubbery feel of the earbuds and the earwax on top of them . And I can't spray any type of anti-chew substance on them either, because they go into my ears.

Your ears would be all like "I don't have teeth! I wasn't going to chew anyway. Burning!"

Ears are dumb.

I really, really wish I could draw. I swear I'm feeling creative rumbles, even though my hands shake and I can't visualize shit in my head.

very inspiring

I'm really good at a few things. I can sing, I can write. I can even cook.

I can't...draw. I have no visualization process. I don't see things in my head, I FEEL things in my head, but Tumblr has such amazing art.

But there are things I want to art!

It would just come out very badly and not get better.

me too
If I were to start from scratch, and had a shred of talent in that regard, I'd do that, too… or perhaps sculpt or ornamental ceramics.

Just do it, and allow yourself to be bad at it until you've had enough practice to improve. Play with it, do it small, big, cheap, outrageously expensive, disposable, upside down, with your non dominant hand, quickly, slowly, try a different style or different materials, until you find what works for you. :)

BTW "can't visualize"? That comes with practice. If I'm trying to draw something which isn't in front of me, I look at as many different examples of what I'm trying to draw as possible, and then let my mind's eye come up with a way of creating that image.

I've never known a child who can't draw at all; "I can't draw" is something which far too many of us are taught before we're adults, and struggle to get past. :(

ps - just occurred to me:
Why the sudden yearning?:)

Mostly involvement with Tumblr and Reddit. I'm on the writing side of things, but people have done fan art and written fan music for what I wrote.

Now I have other things I'm writing and I'd love to have representative art. Considering commissioning some also, which is supportive of the community.

It's just a very cool thing to have an enthusiastic amateur community all tossing their talents in the ring.

Thank you for the encouragement :)

I'm afraid it's my ego that gets in the way. I was mostly born able to sing, never really had to learn it and it comes when called. I'm afraid I have frustrations with things that don't come that way, like I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time.

No, I mean I cannot visualize, not that it's hard. It is entirely dark in my head. I don't see or think in pictures. Not even a little. I'm also not a primarily visually stimulated person, for me it's someone's voice or wit that I find interesting.

I think in emotions, in words, in music, and the closest I come to visualization is a sweeping shadow that is un-sustained and is then wiped away behind it, like a colorless tracing in the sand washed away by a wave.

I am married to someone who can visualize anything in his head, see it, turn it, take it apart, put it back together...and it sounds like magic.

But I don't feel deprived, I like my head. I love my emotions and music and relative darkness.

I do wish I could draw though.

I don't believe you. Please stop talking yourself out of this.

But I'm on page 78 of something that's really humming and I'm inspired. I'm on a freakin' roll.

*whine*

But thank you for the encouragement, dropping by and kicking me in the creative butt. I appreciate it.

My son has a drawing tablet. I might kidnap it. I tried a few months ago though and mostly I stare and think..."I've got an idea for a story."

Sorry, Reci, I came across these. by accident, which made me think about compiling a list. Also, given that I tend to lose things a bit + you don't mind them&actually enjoy these sort of things (see Phaneron's thread) - your thread seemed like a safe storage space for me, for now.
If anyone wants to chip in with other suggestions, too - much appreciated.
