Men's rights groups are fighting back against false rape accusations in college

Is it possible she changed her mind between the text and the time she got there?
How will we ever know? Colleges have completely abolished DUE PROCESS during these proceedings.

This is why you do not have colleges adjudicate rape accusations - that belongs in a court of law.

Even some feminists have started to realize this bullshit has gone too far.

I am a feminist. I have marched at the barricades, subscribed to Ms. magazine, and knocked on many a door in support of progressive candidates committed to women's rights. Until a month ago, I would have expressed unqualified support for Title IX and for the Violence Against Women Act.

But that was before my son, a senior at a small liberal-arts college in New England, was charged—by an ex-girlfriend—with alleged acts of "nonconsensual sex" that supposedly occurred during the course of their relationship a few years earlier.

What followed was a nightmare—a fall through Alice's looking-glass into a world that I could not possibly have believed existed, least of all behind the ivy-covered walls thought to protect an ostensible dedication to enlightenment and intellectual betterment.

It began with a text of desperation. "CALL ME. URGENT. NOW."

And here's a high ranking Harvard law professor saying that feminism has gone too far with the way they handle rape accusations on campus.

CIVIL LIBERTIES FRAMED AS INDIFFERENCE TO ABUSED WOMEN

The furor over Anna’s case amounts to pressure on schools to hold students responsible for serious harm even when — precisely when — there can be no certainty about who is to blame for it. Such calls are core to every witch hunt. Speaking as a feminist governor to other feminist governors,5×
5. For my argument that feminists sometimes do gain control over levers of power, see Janet Halley, Rape at Rome: Feminist Interventions in the Criminalization of Sex-Related Violence in Positive International Criminal Law, 30 Mich. J. Int’l L. 1 (2008). The claim is not that feminists then get everything they want; rather, that they have a will to power and sometimes succeed in their efforts to become governors. I have this simple message: we have to pull back from this brink.

And here's another NON MEN'S RIGHTS SOURCE to back up my point:
http://www.slate.com/articles/doubl...ult_is_a_serious_problem_but_the_efforts.html
Sexual assault on campus is a serious problem. But efforts to protect women from a putative epidemic of violence have led to misguided policies that infringe on the civil rights of men.

...

Any woman who is raped, on campus or off, deserves a fair and thorough investigation of her claim, and those found guilty should be punished. But the new rules—rules often put in place hastily and in response to the idea of a rape epidemic on campus—have left some young men saying they are the ones who have been victimized. They are starting to push back. In the past three years, men found responsible for sexual assault on campus have filed more than three dozen cases against schools. They argue that their due process rights have been violated and say they have been victims of gender discrimination under Title IX. Their complaints are starting to cost universities. The higher education insurance group United Educators did a study of the 262 insurance claims it paid to students between 2006 and 2010 because of campus sexual assault, at a cost to the group of $36 million. The vast majority of the payouts, 72 percent, went to the accused—young men who protested their treatment by universities.

SgtSpiderMan, I've seen your previous responses in other posts and I know none of this sways you. So I'm going to take this tact instead:

These feminists are getting their asses sued off by the men they've victimized. And I hope these lawsuits grow into a fucking tsunami and I hope those colleges burn. Every one of those suits puts a smile on my face.

It's nice to see the men fight back. Even nicer to see them winning.

That doesn't answer the question.

That doesn't answer the question.
What is up with you GB people?

You asked "Is it possible she changed her mind between the text and the time she got there?"

"How will we ever know?" does answer your question. You might not like that but it is the answer. We don't know.

And that brings up the concept of innocent until proven guilty, due process, etc. - which the colleges have chosen to ignore entirely.

I've always argued to ignore north american sociology majors, and just bang locals.

Just don't show up with a lacrosse stick.

Don't bang anyone in college. Ever. Keep your hands to yourself until this radical feminism bullshit blows over.

It doesn't because I didn't ask if we'll ever know, I asked if it was possible.

It doesn't bring up due process because the example you provided is from a private college.

Nobody knows. If you don't like that answer then tough. That's life. Nobody knows. That is the only answer that is possible.

Private or no, due process is still their right. These colleges are finding this out as the lawsuits are flooding in and these colleges are getting their asses kicked in court.

Now I got a question for you... what do you feel about 72% of the Title IX sexual assault insurance claim payouts going to male litigants? :D

Difficult one, is it?

On one hand, you Do have some awful rape cases which go unacknowledged or swept under the carpet. See the Steubenville rape case, where authorities 'unburried' the case only after Anonymous leaked those videos online.

But I also recall watching on youtube about this case (I can't find it, unfortunately), where some college students were also accused of rape. They were convicted, and what eventually saved them was the fact that an onlooker, I think, eventually came forward with a cellphone recording of what clearly was consensual group sex.

And they busted the hacker for a longer prison term than the rapist. WTF.

And then underaged boys who get raped by women get punished with child support.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/09/02/statutory-rape-victim-child-support/14953965/

People around here say boys can't be raped and they ought to pay. Nobody would ever say that to a female rape victim. Well, nobody except Republicans, and even they're not vile enough to say the woman victim should pay child support.

We do know if it is possible for a person to change their mind. So, no, you haven't answered the question that I asked you, you've answered a question that you invented.

You'll have to show me where people are granted due process from a private organization.

Let's focus on you answering questions and backing up your claims first.

If I were a student I'd volunteer my free time to stand guard by these posters to prevent defacing.
About time real Men stood up against this Lesbian created Rape Myth that is part of their hate filled anti men platform.

Wishing you hadn't fucked a guy the next day is not just cause for screaming RAPE anymore than walking around the collage with a matress on your back proves your were Raped.

It does prove that these women are mentally unstable and are the example of the silly female sterotypes that kept them out of the military, law enforcement and medical feilds for decades.

Bitches with their "consent" and "no." Really making it hard on us real men who just need to rape some whores.

I did answer your question. Nobody knows. You're not winning this, dude. You got your answer and it is definitely an answer.

As for due process, well, all I gotta say is that these private organizations are getting their asses kicked in court for not granting their students due process. The courts have my back on this, not yours.

And we focus on what I decide we focus on. Haven't you gotten the hint yet? I'm way more forceful than you can hope to be about this. That's just stupid of you to even try to claim agency in this discussion. You have none.

ARRRRR LEJACQELOPE YOU DOODOOHEAD

yeah whatever dude. Cry about it all you want or trash talk all day long, you got an answer, deal with it. I'm forcing you to move onto the next subject or you can get left behind, your choice.

For God's sake, feminist nutjobbery vs anti-feminist nutjobbery.

This right here is a solid example of Horseshoe Theory.

I like horseshoes. It's a fun game and takes more skill than people realize and it's one of the few sports that is improved upon by drinking heavily.

So your answer is that you'll never know if it's possible for you to change your mind. If no one will ever know if it's possible for her to change her mind then no one can deny she very well may have changed her mind based on what you've presented.

Now I'm confused about the point you're trying to make with this thread. If you don't know if it's possible for people to change their minds and if the courts are ruling for guys in these cases, then schools like this won't exist for long and the problem will settle itself.

Now I'm confused about the point you're trying to make with this thread.
Dude I totally understand. It's a common problem around here. All you need to understand is that these schools are getting sued by the accused men for doing this on their "private" property and the men are winning.

Losing repeatedly in civil court is a good sign that they're goofing epically in their treatment of accused men.

There! Confusion solved!
