This place cheered me up immensely last night. You are a wonderful bunch of loons and I love you all.

One helluva way to start the day.

It's 81° (27°C) with 63% humidity, so go race a 5K in 28:10.
It's a bitch getting OLD. The fucking children run so effortlessly. I had to sprint my goddamn ass off to beat a goddamn 9-year old to the finish.

Stop your whining. When it takes you 45 minutes you can complain about getting old.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.
:) :)

It is very sobering when you run like a sonofabitch and you can barely overtake a goddamned 9-year old. It's pathetic.

I am seriously contemplating instructing those in charge that when the day comes that I can't outrun a little twerp like that, I am to be taken out behind the barn and put down.

compare like with like, try, and feel good! how many people of the same age as you are as fit? i'd imagine less than 5% of the population.

I'm a complete and utter moron some days.

In other news, someone reminded me that I can just flip my bike upside down to clean and lube the chain. Duh, self.

I have found that I am stumbling over words. Like there is a hitch from my brain to my mouth. It is something I have noticed my father started doing after his heart attack.

I'm only slightly concerned.

the flood of nasty thoughts
accompany almost everything
you do...

and then i remember
just how pitiful
you actually are...

nom nom... pity-party!

you'll note:
they seldom respond
and
seldom, if ever quote.

nom nom...
no one cares what you sneak eat.

...and the ultimate crash will be poorly attended;
despite that being the one thing they'd all attend,
to watch...

nom nom...
comfort food is "safe"
and you
are no pioneer

nor mantle enough, upon which
to hang any dis-positive label.

nom nom...
eat up.

you are nearly invisible.

I don't know why you would think that I could tire of you...there's just no way. It doesn't matter whether we spend the week doing construction on my house or traveling to exotic places...we have fun, we laugh, we joke, and life is good.

Plus, we do Thursday's right.
(Even when it's *still* Wednesday!) ;)

The aim of public education is not to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence. . . . Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim . . . is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States. . . .

Henry Mencken, The American Mercury, April 1924.
