I am an introvert who happens to be very good at putting on a warm and friendly and helpful act. People adore me at work (I am in customer relations) and actively seek me out but after I deal with people I often feel drained and stressed. I used to get anxiety attacks in the past but I don't anymore, just the gross "had the life sucked out of me" feeling afterwards that makes me want to go crawl into bed and hide.

I'm the kind of introvert that never wants to leave the house.

What does that make me?

Is there a section for me, Noor?

What kind of name is Noor anyway? What does it mean? Tell me. I must know.

I NEED TO KNOW.

:

:) my husband is finally understanding this about me after 28 years. Yes, I can talk to anyone and I'm warm and genuinely like meeting people and connecting, but I am also shy in a way and very much in my head and a major home body.

You are a garden variety introvert which is the easiest kind for most people to understand.

You section is "introvert" unless you like Lady T-rexs and such.

The name Noor is from the Near East and means Light.

That was what was one of the things that was so cool about Byron, we were both outgoing (ish) introverts, and so both understood downtime.

We're sitting in front of computers typing words to no one in particular. No, we aren't introverts....

If we weren't introverts, we wouldn't be here.

Thanks, Noor.

I think if there was a vote for the nicest person here, you would definitely be in the running.:rose:

That is sweet of you to say, Smooth :rose:

It's also the truth. I never seen you get upset or out of character. And all I see you do is try to help people with their problems. You genuinely care, Noor, and that's why I respect you so much.

I always score as an introvert but I have extrovert qualities. I'm introverted in some circumstances but extroverted in others. If people meet me in one and see me in another it surprises them. I thought you were really quiet or I thought you were really out going. I'm both but I have a stronger introverted side. Introverted isn't the same as shy.

Shy: being reserved or having or showing nervousness or timidity in the company of other people.

Introvert according to Jung:

Introverts tend to be preoccupied with their own thoughts and feelings and minimize their contact with other people.

I'm very much 2 of the 3. As for the third, I only want to talk to other people on my own terms. If I don't find someone interesting, I'm not going to waste time on them.

Me: #1,2,3,5,7,9,10.

Definitely not 6. I tend to dump it all out early.

And a special note on number 4. My cell phone is never on except to make outgoing calls. You can only call me on my home land line, and since it seems to be a telemarketing magnetic, I am this close to blowing the fucker up with a shotgun.

Swear to God, if it rings one more fucking time...

Phones...
Byron and phones...
When Byron asked me for my number, I gave it to him, not sure why, I don't do that. I didn't know until many months later that even though he called me all the time and answered when I called, he only would talk to very few people on the phone and rarely answered it. To make this more interesting, he had 3 phone lines with a total of 4 numbers.

I got upset with Byron on the board once in Nov of 2013. He was baiting me and I was sleepy and upset. I took it down after a bit, only a few people saw it. He tried to clean up the mess.
