oh no wait I got that wrong.

They can refuse to serve gays.

(Hint, folks: homosexuality is no more of a choice than your ethnicity.)

Technically they can get away with this by saying the people who own the business can do as they choose....I suppose.

But aside from legality its a head shaker to think in this day and age people are this ignorant.

Makes me laugh that all these religions supposedly preach love...yet only if you're like them.

Organized religion is by far the world's largest supremacist group. "be like us...or go to hell"

The new law is kosher with recent Supreme Court decisions. If commerce with fags violate your religious principles, too fucking bad for the fag. Its push back time in America.

When I go to CHURCH'S FRIED CHICKEN and the sulking darkie behind the counter pretends I'm not there, that's OK, I take my money elsewhere.

Conservative religious folks. Us liberal religious folk will never tolerate this kind of hate.

Conservatives are far worse, but all religions have their prejudices. The difference is "real" religious folk pray for the sinner, the others use the church as an excuse to lash out at others different from them in order to make their loser ass feel as if they are part of something.

Sadly many religions are a form of mob mentality.

I'm in favor of mob mentality against businesses like this. I've got lots of ski masks and baseball bats here, which one you want, wood or metal? :D

In all seriousness, though, there's no real credible legal border here holding businesses back from refusing to serve not just gays, but also blacks, Jews, women... it's all something you can excuse under pseudo religious bullshit. Picture a Muslim business saying women should stay home and therefore no coffee for her. It's possible. Wahabbism(sp?) is nuts like that. (It's also not what all Muslims live by, so STFU any Conserviturds who are reading this.)

BTW I am trying REAL HARD to get men's rights groups within earshot of me, to take up arms on this. If you ain't got a dog in this fight then you aren't paying attention...

This law is going to cause so many problems for the citizens of Indiana & I imagine it will be tied up in the courts for years.

Businesses in Indiana should refuse to serve any elected officials because the owners object to stupidity.

I think the people of Indiana are going to find out the cost of being this stupid. Indiana like many states tries to project an image of being a 21st century state, they try and sell the idea of this diverse state open for business to companies outside the state, but what this sends to companies and people is that Indiana is a state run by narrow minded bigots. For all the protestations that this is about 'religious freedom', what it comes off as is a 21st century Jim Crow. When the guy who is head of Apple Computer came out and said that this was an outrage, he is speaking with a voice that gets a lot of respect and it also is one with repurcussions. Apple as a company does business with a lot of companies, and this could mean that Apple automatically refuses to do business with companies in the state. If there is a convention in Indianapolis, and Apple refuses to go, a lot of other companies may follow. Farm idiots think everyone thinks like them, but they don't, even people who otherwise don't care about gay rights or same sex marriage will see this for what it is, bigots wanting the right to be bigots and have the law support it.

Worse, if this turns into what it potentially could turn into, if some born again Christian fuckwad decides he doesn't want to hire gay employees, or some drooling born again Christian decides he wants to wear a T shirt to work that says "Fags go to hell" and then threatens to sue if his employer says take it off, or a manager fires an employee for having a same sex spouse they marry, and claims "religious belief", it will set off a real war..and the GOP might think this is a 'win' for family values, but with the next election cycle this can end up putting a huge albatross around their neck, that will further cement the idea in the ideas of many that the GOP is a party run by cranks and rednecks.Rand Paul is trying to run as a libertarian, but while he might think this is freedom for the religious, what people will see is someone claiming to be a libertarian who is just another hard right wing nutjob.

There is another part to this, businesses who do turn away gay customers will find out there is a tremendous cost to it. Sure, losing a bit of business from gay customers probably won't hurt their bottom line, but eventually word is gonna get out there, the internet and social media are going to get their name out there, and even if every two bit born again Christian tries to support their business, they will lose a ton of money because people of good conscience will avoid them. One legislator, I think in one of the Carolinas, when such a law came up, put an amendment on the law that said businesses that wish to disciminate in this way have to post signs at their businesses indicating they refuse the right to serve gays and also would need to post something on their websites. The people who want to do this probably think they will be able to do this and no one will notice, but they are wrong, they will find they lose business, then they will go around whining how their religious belief is being trampled on, when what is really happening is they want the right the discriminate and not pay the costs of it, it is much like the right wing morons who say stupid things, and then when they get dumped on, cry 'my first amendment rights are being trampled" and so forth, they want to have the right to be stupid but then don't want to face the consequences.

If only stupidity was a sin.....
So who says it ain't? If not in a specific faith, then invent a religion that specifically condemns stupidity. The theology is easy: sin is Spanish for 'without'. To be without rational thought is to have a brain full of sin, nothing. That's a fertile playground for Satan. Out, out, damned devil! Begone! Too bad a simple exorcism won't raise IQ levels in Indiana.

Ayup, this cannot possibly ever be overstated. This could be DISASTROUS for the GOP.

IF, that is, liberals grow a fucking SPINE and take this fight to the streets and social / TV media and don't back down when the heat is on.

Wow you sure are outspoken on Chris Kyle.
That racist little git? You betcha. I do it especially to rankle up his fans who are given to issue rape and death threats to Kyle's critics. I'm hoping one of those mothafuckas will actually try to make good on that.

Not one of my State's finest moments - our precious governor is already backpedaling somewhat, saying he will support legislation "clarifying" the religious freedom law.
