The first round of tickets (4,000) apparently sold out in less than 10 minutes yesterday, but a couple of my buddies and me got ours! Yaaaay!

Registration for the next round, the biggest round (40,000), starts in a couple of weeks. Check burningman dot org for more info.

So who else is planning or hoping to go this year?

That's why we're renting an RV.

Plus, it's a dry hell of dust-caked (mostly nude) bodies so it's not that bad.

Its like a Sandals resort.

Sure, why not? Vegas is in the desert.

No it's out in the desert. WAAAAY out in the desert, 50 miles east of Reno.

No ocean, no pools. (well, there are some natural hot springs nearby but they're off limits.) Soft, silky sand though.

Oddly enough, there are lots of water themed camps. The one I remember best from 2000 is Shower Camp. (group grope and shower anyone?)

I guess it actually rained last year on Day 1 which caused a huge mess.

It's a bacchanal orgy of the senses for sure. But definitely not for everyone.
