The Designated Survivor

The article was a fun read. Something about hearing all of those names and titles in a piece where the titles are just an aside, makes remembering them easier.

I would assume you take a cab in hopes of splitting a cab for the ride home with someone interesting.

This year's designated survivor for the State of the Union speech: Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx.

The Cabinet member who is picked to be the "designated survivor" has a grim task: Stay away from the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday night, and be prepared to help run the government if a catastrophic event wipes out the government leaders attending the State of the Union speech.

When you look at it solely like this, it is interesting to note that the Secretary of Agriculture is picked equally by D and R presidents. The writer of the article is an idiot for positing that the reason has something to do with the lack of popularity.

"President Tony Foxx" sounds like it is from a bad cold-war novel.

I know the designated survivor.

Glad he survived.
