I can't believe this year has gone so damn fast!
Today I noticed all the stores are filled with Christmas stuff, which got me wondering how many people are ready for Xmas this year?
I have nothing done yet. Not a single thing.
No presents, no food pre-bought, nada.

How about you?

I absolutely despise going shopping this time of the year. I am hating on Christmas right now because I am not prepared. I am, usually.

Sydney shopping for Christmas late November? Get the fuck.

It was 39 degrees out west today. Hotter tomorrow. People are out in force. Mother fuckers.

My daughter gets what she wants anyway. I don't need saint nick to change that. I'm looking forward to new years eve more than Christmas

I ignore it as much as I can. Hate Christmas.

Unfortunately for most Australians we are "encouraged" to take a few weeks off to re-establish ourselves and chill out after the completely fucked Bend Over And Take It In The Ass With No Lube period leading up to the holidays.

So basically Christmas is just a time where your boss tells you to eff off for a couple of weeks before you go totes batshit.

Well a nice long break from work is enough reason to celebrate on its own. I'm on leave for two weeks now and loving it, especially as the trapped nerve seems to be easing up. Apart from Christmas and Boxing Day and my birthday, this year I'm working most of it including New Years Day.

They keep bringing up the work Christmas party. The Christmas party is on a Saturday so that more people can make it this time, unlike last year when I was still too busy working to go.

The year before I caught a flight to Melbourne and was escorted direct from the airport. No time to change. Shorts and a blouse in the midst of women in high fashion and established menfolk. The winner of X Factor singing happy ballads in the background and company partners in jeans and collars. Me sipping champagne in sandals and a blouse.

Christmas is a love hate thing for me...

I'm trying not to be grouchy this year...I'm trying to stay neutral and just work through it instead of trying to piss in everyone's Post toasties about it.

In my world Christmas isn't even contemplated til after Thanksgiving. I'd be just fine with good eats, and good company. A family day, music, playing games, snow, fire, all that. But, kids love presents.

Oh, girl! The annual holiday cards are stamped, addressed, and waiting by the door for the socially acceptable time to mail them. Presents have been purchased. One has even been wrapped. Food? Pffft... I haven't even gotten anything for Thanksgiving. Where would I put it? I have half a freezer, and I don't believe in hoarding food (which means I'll be the first one dead when the apocalypse hits).
