screw the poor to boost the rich.

those fucking lib dems.

and, previously, fucking labour.

If only you could figure out a way to screw the rich WHILE screwing the poor, all would be in balance.

It's the rich that gets the pleasure .
It's the poor that gets the blame .
It's the same the whole world over .
Aint it all a fucking shame .

Why the study? Is Romney runnin' for King of England now?

redistribution of wealth!

Also referred to as the 'purchasing of votes.'

No form of taxation is fair to everyone. The system of taxation in the UK makes the US lawmakers look like simpletons. It's a swamp that none can tread upon with safety. And the same can be said of the methods of redistribution.

The politicians of all stripes understand that without the 'rich' they wouldn't have the resources for redistribution. In the liberal lexicon the 'rich' start at the next to the lowest quintile, in the lexicon of the old line so called republican it starts with the middle quintile. No matter which party is in power it's the middle class that takes it in the shorts.

Every form of redistribution is nothing more than government mandated charity. There is no argument that there are those that through no fault of their own find themselves in dire financial straits and are deserving of a helping hand. The issue is who is going to administer that charity, what constitutes a deserving state, how much, and for how long?

Why do you persist in commenting on UK politics when it's blatantly obvious that you haven't got a fucking clue what you're talking about? The entire rhetoric of this tory government's rhetoric has been redistributing wealth from the very poorest and most vulnerable in society to the richest.

a conversation, years back, where someone told me that there were limited chairs in the commons, and that politicians who lost their seats had to stand outside...

because that's what 'lost his seat' means

Dude, you really need to drop the looking straight in the mirror projecting routine...

...and, speaking of "UK politics" and "haven't got a fucking clue":

In your lemming estimation, which is the far, far more draconian government agency as far as almost total surveillance of its own citizens is concerned...

...America's NSA, or limeyland's GCHQ?

Isn't that also the origin of the term "Back Bencher?"

They send a tax bill to the poor, gather up their schillings, make up a packet and send it off to the rich?

Soooo, I make a general statement re. taxes with only a passing reference to the UK and the fucking moron responds as if I'd penned the "Complete Guide to UK Politics." Too fucking funny for words.

I freely admit that my famly's interest in English taxation ended for good when a shirt-tail relative of mine convinced Cornwallis to surrender.

Still. It does seem odd the way they are describing it. Is this one of those things where the poor are receiving less from the rich than they used to... ergo, the rich are raping the poor?
