As a glass artist, no, you do t want tempered glass. That is glass that has been made highly unstable, so it breaks In tiny pieces, like a windshield. Now, I would hope your glass toy won't be prone to stone chips, but you want something artist made, and something that has been annealed on a very conservative annealing schedule. Always inspect for damage, keep it stored in something soft, not clinking around with the other toys. If it is made of borosilicate glass, they can often be repaired (contact the original artist). If you want some artists' contact info who do these, let me know! No, I don't make these but I do enjoy them

I've heard about injurys where people used things not originally intended as sextoys - bottles mainly. Even then there has usually been a dose of stupid involved.

With real sextoys (borosilicate) I've never heard about shattering or things like that but I've heard about people using them too hot or cold.

I've never heard of it happening before. (That doesn't mean it hasn't, of course.) And I've never had any trouble out of any of mine.

Glass toys seem to be made similarly to the way glass baking dishes are made. If that's the case, then it's possible to break them, but you'd have to put a lot of effort into it. I'm the clumsiest person alive, and I have yet to even put a scratch in either a glass toy or a glass cooking utensil.

Remember one of the first companies to bring out glass toys did videos of hitting them with a hammer and driving a truck over one so they have to be pretty tough. Re: your question. I've never been injured . . . but glass - like metal - can get very cold. I've experienced quite a bit of discomfort due to the temperature of the toy.

I'm sure the reason for this was because the two glass toys were hard against the soft tissue of that inner wall. Pinched is the correct word for what happened. I don't think it would be as bad with one glass toy and another softer toy, though. I don't think the softer dildos, made of more "cushy" material (for lack of a better term) won't act like that. Unless the other toy is hard like the glass, you should be OK.
