Like some others have mentioned, it feels so good because we wouldn't do it otherwise. And our species wouldn't last too long if we all the sudden stopped...

I also like the emotional pleasure that comes along with the physical. There you are with this other person who has decided to engage in the ultimate act of connecting emotionally with you. (Yes, obviously there are plenty of people out there who have sex with no real attachment. But I'm not talking about those people here.)

It's pretty much been said. It's human nature to do what gives us pleasure and avoid what doesn't. If sex wasn't pleasurable, we wouldn't be so quick to do it and humanity (as we know it) would soon die out.
