I never listen to enough Christmas music during the season, and only tend to realize it once the season is over. So, I'm making a concerted effort to change that year. To that end, one of my favorite Christmas songs, but almost entirely because of her version:

Ella Fitzgerald - Sleigh Ride

By the way, I'm going to save you all here.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo is a Christmas song I really like, and so when my aunt won tickets to their concert a few years back, I was excited to go.

It was so hilariously bad. I still like the song, but it was one of those things where you're excited, and it starts, and five minutes in you look at the person next to you and go, "Uh oh. We may have made a mistake here." So over the top, and people headbanging while they played the violin is just.. no. Stop that.

Good to know. My sister went a few years ago and raaaaved about how good it was and how badly I missed out.

I've been singing this one to the baby. We learned it for a Christmas concert in elementary school (and husband would rather I didn't "brainwash him with the Jesus-y ones"). He'd never heard this one, before.

Must Be Santa

The PowerPoint animations give me a headache, though.

I love a good Christmas carol and this is arguably the best.
Nothing quite like belting this one out in a church or cathedral, and luckily I get to this year. Which is awesome!

O Holy Night

Give my rowdily shouted Rockabilly Christmas any day...if I want the slow stuff I'll visit mom. how exciting that is.
