I hope McDonalds people get $15/hr

Because then McDonalds can finally upgrade their work force with robots and the customer will get what he or she finally ordered and not have to worry about the quality or foreign objects ....

So, what you're saying is that you're a regular customer.

We'll pretend to be surprised.

Why do you think the corrupt and wildly expanded liberal welfare systems in the country are the responsibility of those companies? Obama massively expanded these programs.

When they lobbied the US government to get the US tax payer to provide for their employees.

Obama expanded them...all the more reason to make companies pass the cost of doing business onto their consumers, not tax payers.

When did we require private companies to hand out welfare, instead of the government? When were they charged with paying people more than they are worth in the market place? When did a private company who has part time work become required to give somebody full time work.

Oh man you're like 110 years behind the reality of today. There has been no such thing as "the market" being free since we crawled out of the 3rd world Dayday.

People who work and need more money, they can get another job, like we had to do in our youth. Nobody gave me a god damn thing I didn't have to work for.

IT'S NOT 1960 ANYMORE, THAT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE, WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT???

We will either have a free country, and be free people,

You don't have any fucking room to talk about freedumb, cpt. bulldoze the will of the voters, go big federal DUTY AND LAW!!

or we will have a socialist country where economic planning is centralized in Washington, and we are serfs. Soviet style centralized economic planning failed.

See above...suddenly Centralized Washington is EVOL!!! You were fucking loving it the other day when it suited your bullshit agenda. And you still haven't taken a position on the issue....all bullshit dancing around it.

Are companies going to feed their employees or is the tax payer vette?

Which will you vote for?

All evasive bullshit.

Sayz the guy who won't make a firm statement as to corporations or tax payers feeding the workers.

Buying votes to elect democrats with free shit needs to end.

Republicans have no room to talk on that issue....they do the SAME fucking thing you fucking ROMNEY cheerleader... YEAAAAAAA GET SOME!!

People need to work for a living

They do, and the company they work for needs to pay that living, not the tax payer.

and the fucking government should stop preventing people from finding a job they can do.

 You mean like growing weed MR.SEND IN THE FEDS FUCK YEA!! FUCK THE VOTERS!! FEDERAL POWER!!!

Caught you with your pant's down on that one again, hypocrite.

We need to end welfare altogether

1) that would send republicans into a fucking fit....who would feed their employees?? That's just not fair...right??

2) Until we crash into 3rd world shit hole status that's just not going to happen, get fucking real.

and hunt down and kill every commie who says different.

HAHAHA ^^ doesn't know what communism is.

Why don't you just be a good cowboy capitalist and move to central Africa?

So what's it going to be Vette?

A) Make corporations pay their employees enough to not be on welfare?

or

B) Keep min wage where it's at so Republican interest can keep subsidizing their labor at the expense of the tax payer?

I bet you don't come back with a straight answer and keep bullshitting about free market this and commie that...come on...toss some more evasive bullshit out there instead of growing a pair and answering the god damn question.

hey simpleton....

here is what happens....

min wage goes up, and the price to make your burger goes up...prices go up, so that wage increase becomes mute...

why not offer student loans, allow people to get an education to become something. after all (the fail on your part) wal mart and McDonalds are not career jobs unless you get into management or start to own burger stores...

you fail to realize burger flipper isn't a career....hopefully some day you will get that!

But wait you said that all education is a liberal socialist plot? Do you even read your own posts? Nevermind.

Hey, I was in Central Park this weekend and I saw two birds fighting over a dead bug. I'm sorry to say it was your mom.

Fucking lunatic.

I think this fast food strike is going to be a disaster..when I look at some of those people picketing, honestly, they should be grateful mcdonalds has such low standards.

You know what's great about having been to other countries? You see a lot of interesting things. For example, I know of a country where McDonalds pays just shy of $15/hr. And they even speak English, jen!

It's Australia!

So let's see if McD had to bump pay up to $15/hr (which won't happen because of animals like you) the price of a Big Mac would go up a whopping 68 cents.

So if President Obama waved a magic wand tomorrow and raised the minimum wage to $10 or $15, does this all mean that U.S. fast food chains would be able to cope? "Were that to happen overnight, it would be a hugely traumatic process," Schaefer told me. After all, virtually every fast food franchise in the country would have to rethink its business model as their profits evaporated. But as the international market shows, the models are out there. It would certainly mean more expensive burgers. It would almost definitely mean fewer workers, as restaurants found ways to streamline their staffs, either through better management or technology. And it might mean fewer chains catering to the bottom of the market.

Do they ever read the articles that bolster their main premise?

I'll bet that flawed study of municipalities has even been dusted off despite reaching the opposite conclusion of what these economic socialists/interventionists think it does.

It also does not go into what the other mandated costs and taxes are so that we are not comparing apples to apples.

Jesus u r a flaming socialist!

Since when is it an "entitle" to pay a welfare wage! A company by no means should or must over pay for labor?

See, this is why u r not very smart and I keep the language at a 3rd grade level...

The stupidity of GBers is mind blowing!

There are jobs that are low paying AND are not careers....

GET OVER IT AS ITS JUST HOW IT IS!!!!!

its up to the individual to acquire the skills to advance to higher paying jobs

PERIOD

I think our attitudes depend on how we were raised.

When I was a kid in the 50s we got a load of new clothes at the start of school, then more at Christmas. We got presents at Christmas and birthday. No allowance. Yet I made some bux to buy a pair of Red Ball Jets when I was 8, plus an old bicycle that cost me $7. I sold GRIT and Christmas cards. Collected Blue Horse coupons to get model cars. Saturdays I bought chicken necks and used them to catch Blue Crabs I sold for 10 cents each. When I was 12 I bought a 2 cycle mower to cut grass for $2 a yard. I had 6 customers. My old lady was a fool for red high heels, so every Christmas I bought her a new pair of decent high heels. So I kinda started working when I was 8.

I was taught self sufficiency.

Jesus u r a flaming socialist!

Not even close.....

I just don't think all these republican corporations should get to subsidize their labor force on the backs of the tax payer.

You'r team is begging for welfare/hand outs for the rich in order to maintain the cheapest labor force possible, it's that simple.

I think our attitudes depend on how we were raised.

And the reality of 2013....you're not getting rid of welfare/social programs/public assistance. Republicans will NEVER get a super majority for "fuck poor people!!" laws. Because 90% of the country is piss broke compared to the people the GOP is trying to help out.

Get fucking real, now we can keep feeding wal mart's employees via the tax payer or we can make wal mart consumers pay that bill....the cut and dry reality of TODAY.

I was taught self sufficiency.

Has nothing to do with the economic situation of 2013 .

I don't care if the 'fast food workers' walk off the job on a permanent basis.

Eating that shit will kill you.

I avoid it in total!

Republican Corporations? Do you really think that all the major corporations in this country are run by Republicans?

Nothing to be embarrased by being a socialist. Its a birth defect.

Name the corporate welfare programs u want to 86! Im sure that most of witch ill agree with u to terminate!

Ge, comcast.....lets 86 their welfare plans

Jen, this is Laurel's post in another thread.

Part of the radness of entrepreneurism is that people will push all the limits to make something happen. This is awesome when it's the limits of technology and intelligence that are being pushed. It's less so when it's the limits of human decency. That's why we have laws. To protect people.

Why should a corporation be allowed to do steal, lie, pollute, and cause harm? We don't allow individual people to do those things.

It's always odd to me when the law-and-order pro-death-penalty types think Big Business shouldn't have to follow any laws.

Walmart makes money hand over fist. They do things that way because it's a way to game the system, not because they'd go broke if they had to pay health insurance. They're ripping off taxpayers - making you and I pay the health insurance costs of their employees, so that they can line their wallets with a fatter bottom line. Why anyone whose last name isn't Walton would defend that is beyond me.

Are you contending that Laurel has a birth defect?
