FAWC You, Two!

Aw, thanks, Naoko, I appreciate it. I was nearly impossible, being on vacation during prime writing time. But ... I will keep trying, and my failed FAWC attempts are not failures, because I can use the first one for a Halloween contest submission, and this last one as a kick start for Nano this year.

But I really wanted to be a part of FAWC this time! Maybe next time, but not too soon, Slyc!

I'm looking forward to reading the stories when they post, good luck everyone.

We really need the impartial readers, so I am a little bit selfishly glad. And how about your one for the Nude Day competition? You got that one in against the odds, big cheers to you for that. How is the story going along? Send me more to beta read for you.

True about the Nude Day, though it was shorter than it was supposed to be. See? I can't even accept my semi-successes! :)

I will send you more of that when I have it, hopefully soon. And since you asked, I might send you my bit of FAWC from this time around, too, I have some specific questions about it. :D

Oh totally! I am really curious, LOL. Please send it! And keep writing the Nude Day story. It was so ethereal and lovely. We are hanging on here waiting to hear about it.

So Fawcker any idea when these stories will plate...I mean post?

Anxious, are we? :p

I haven't heard from Laurel yet and the stories are all sitting patiently in the queue.

Patience is a virtue! (or so the old Nestlé Quik commercial used to say)

I, for one, am waiting patientlee. :)

Anxious, are we?

More curious than anything. I wont be here when it happens either way. Going down to Tomaston Al to work on a a church. Got about 5 weeks more work to do there. Doing 4 -10 hour days so wont be back till later in the week.

I'll be away till the end of the week too! We must sit like patientlee on a Monument, LOL. It will be fun to see the stories all posted and off when we get back.
:)

When I was younger, I felt entirely the same way. :)

My father's favorite coffee mug. Made me think of you. ;-)

(If the pic doesn't show up, this won't make any sense.)

The posting of the stories will be delayed by a couple of days due to one of our contributors sending in an unfinished story.

That's cool to allow the situation to be fixed if it was like an inadvertent sending of a raw file or a portion that had been sent to an editor. Not cool if they couldn't meet the deadline and are getting extra days. Hell, if I hadn't looked twice after I attached mine to you, you would have gotten all my notes and shit too.
I don't mind holding up in the interest of sportsmanship, this is a friendly thing after all.
Once again, thanks for playing ring master ya Slyc Fawcker. :D

Haha. That might not be a punishment around these parts.

That reminds me of the joke about the parents who found a stack of BDSM magazines under their tenn age son's bed. When the mom asks the dad what they're gonna do, dad says, "I dopn't know, but wwe sure can't spank him."

I assume you have already contacted that person and that it's not me.... at least i hope its not me... I have done that before  and would hate to be holding everyone else up because i was a ditz.

On another note: I noticed that the stories from Fawc 1 are all attributed to the individual authors now did Laurel do that for everyone after the contest or did individual authors need to request it?

Just wondering...

Or the person contacted him when they realized they sent the wrong file.

No need for corporal punishment.

Yet.

No, it wouldn't. ;)

The situation was that the story was an unfinished version.

After the FAWC is over, I will PM Laurel and ask her to reassign all the FAWC entries to their original authors.

Or the person contacted him when they realized they sent the wrong file.

This was the case.

I submitted the wrong file once and it posted. I woke up to some really harsh comments and I was thinking the story wasn't that bad. Then I opened the story and hoo-boy!

One of the characters name even changed during the story because it was my first draft and I change things on the fly a lot then fix them in a new doc that is the final version.

I submitted an edited version, but by the time it posted the story was off the new list and never "recovered" score wise.

Once the stories are changed over to the author name is it possible to get them on our page, or do they stay on the fawc page as part of "the deal"?

All of the stories are either pulled by the authors or moved to their author page. None remain under the FAWC account.

Guy, a big THANK YOU again for all the hard work you do to keep this boat afloat. It's such a lot of fun, really appreciate it.
