*chuckle* Instead of more coverage, you get less. Government in a nutshell...

dribble and drabble. Merk is the king of not answering a anything. You seem to be a hot head, do you mentally or physically abuse the people/animals around you?

Explain it like you said you would do or shut the fuck up.

Coming from a old-school sexist like you, that's almost a compliment.

Yeap. Sure gets sidestepped pretty easy, though.

Never understood why contraception should be covered by insurance at all? There are many things that are paid for out-of-pocket...i.e. cold medicines, tylenol (etc), allergy meds, bandaids, upset stomach meds, even, condoms.

There are other over-the-counter birth control methods for women as well. Those already have to be paid for out-of-pocket.

Seems this may just be more of a topic that brings more media attention that actually makes sense.

I have always paid for mine, out-of-pocket.

Governor Bobby Jindal wrote an op-ed recently in the Wall Street Journal proposing that birth control pills be taken out of the political arena by making them non-prescription.

The American association of gynocologists agree with him.

Anyone could then buy them.

Would you support the FDA making birth control pills non-prescription?

I would.

Yes, but only until someone figures out how to turn them into meth

It hurts all humanity, logic and reason knowing that you exist.

No answer to my morality question then?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

And before JB4 chimes in...because the drugs you talked about are available WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION. CONTRACEPTION FOR FEMALES IS NOT, AND WE DON'T ALL WANT TO BE BREEDING CATTLE.

I think you answered your own question earlier. It's a control issue.

The fringe right knows they can't legislate their brand of morality, they simply don't have the votes, no matter how often they threaten to hold their breath until they pass out.

So they do the next best thing, make sure that people...women in particular, should be made to suffer the consequences of their behavior. This is why we get not one but two vaginal wand probings for abortions nowadays.

Birth control equalizes the playing field, and a certain demographic of men (white, lower class, over 50) seem to have huge problems with women "not knowing their place".

I DON'T have sex. I'm good. I'm as chaste as one can be. But I do care about other people. I think committed couples should be able to enjoy a healthy sex life, and a happy relationship, without worrying about bringing even more unwanted people into this world.

Do you buy your own contraception? Or do you just keep popping out kids who will eventually be a drain on the government you despise? Or do you abstain?

Amen! Ok! So if you have cancer, fuck you. Pay for your own shit! It sure ain't my fault you got sick, bitch. You don't need no damn chemo or radiation. Just die already.

*Did I do the Republican thing right? It felt awkward when I was typing it.*

Yes, it does. Any sane woman would think the same.

Ok, so you think that it's better and more inexpensive for insurance companies to pay for prenatal and postnatal care then just birth control?

You're not actually a female, are you?

shut up, all you want is "free" stuff. until you start paying taxes, who cares what you feel or think.

Fucking keerhyst.

Got nothing else to do tonight, do ya?

You're like a cluster of herpes sores on the side of one's lips that won't go away.

LOL. It was a serious question, though. Aside from Catholics, I don't know of any religion that disapproves of birth control, and I've never understood why not wanting to have dozens of children is a "moral" issue. Of course, I have to question the morals of anyone who wants to shove his/her own personal beliefs down the throats of his/her employees. That's more about judgment and a power trip than it is morality.

it really depends on the degree to which the person actively practices the teachings of his/her religion. It's certainly not just catholics. orthodox jewish and muslims... for starters.. also have religious laws regarding birth control.
