Unexplained occurences

I had a few weird experiences in an old house of mine, footsteps, waking up to strange men in my room, and once or twice being in my study and having a distinct sensation of someone stroking my hair. I've always been a bit sceptical of that sort of thing but when I heard my kids giggling and having one-sided conversations with people I couldn't see I figured, OK...something might be going on here.
But the thing about it was, it stopped pretty abruptly. Maybe three or four months worth of freakiness and then nothing else at all. It might be a bit out there but I think that if there was someone or something there, perhaps they were checking us out to see if we were OK. Ad even more kooky sounding perhaps but if there is something in your place, maybe that's what they're doing too. After all they've been there longer than you!

One night I had a nightmare in which I got out of bed to use the washroom. When I got to the washroom, there was a crazy looking hobo in there.

At this point, I woke up.

And I had to pee.

But of course, I could not get out of bed. Rationally I knew there was no crazy looking hobo in my washroom, but my pumping heart and a terrible sensation that I was not alone told me to stay in bed.

I lasted 45 minutes before I got up, grabbed my Frankenstein monster candle holder (as a bashing implement, clearly), and went to the washroom.

No crazy hobo.

It was weird alright but you know, I never lived in an old house before and I wonder too if on some level I was expecting stuff to happen. The mind is a very odd thing. Well, mine is anyway.

right! i'm in the right mindset i think - at least my mind is open to possibilities. and i've seen the whole x-files series like 3 times! that's got to count for something, right? but nothing paranormal has ever happened to me.

Yeah they are interesting for sure. The house we are in is 27 years old. Been renovated twice. Still doing more research on the history of it.

That was really surprising to hear. I assumed it was much older. That makes me *very* curious as to what transpired there. (I do not tend to be one of the folks who "look" for this type of thing) You just seem very credible and weren't out seeking freaky crap to be happening to disrupt your night's sleep!

Last night my wife and I were downstairs watching TV. We heard a giggle then footsteps run across our hardwood floor upstairs and finally a door slam. We both went upstairs to check out what was up. There were wet foot prints on our hardwood floors. A children's sized footprints.

We just heard a crash downstairs and my dog is barking. There was a broken glass on the floor. My dog is in his kennel. First time I have wished for cock roaches ever. I am still a non believer but damn it if all this bs isn't making me rethink stuff.

It is creepy. Very creepy. I had to wake my wife up to show her the footprints or what we they were. I mean there wasn't definitive toes and such but it looked liked 3 steps going into the direction of the back spare bedroom. The carpet wasn't wet. Just very creepy.

My wife said she felt someone sit in the edge of our bed a week ago. Looked out and saw the figure of an older gentleman. So who knows. I have never specifically scene something. Just te footprints and noises.

No actually. They have been taking it easy on us as of late. Been quiet.

I have one occurrence that happened to me. Where I live all the roads are straight, and you can see for miles because it's a lot of farmland, and it's relatively flat. It was well after midnight - probably 2 am or so - and I was on Byron Rd/84th Street heading from Holland, MI back east to go home to may parents house. It was either the summer after my senior year, or the summer after my freshman year of college. I was in my '84 Buick Skyhawk, and had the speedometer buried. It topped out at 85, and I was probably up over 100mph. On this road, you can see for probably 10 miles ahead of you. There are a couple small hills, but you can see 4 way flashing stoplights well over 5 miles away. So any cars that are ahead of you, or approaching you are also easily visible.

So, I'm probably seve miles down the road, and hauling ass, and suddenly my seat-belt started tugging at me. It tightened up like when you hit the brakes. It tugged probably 3-4 times, then stopped. Then tugged at me again. And then tugged at me really hard, almost pinning me to the seat. Trying to figure out what the hell is going on, I slow down to less that the posted speed limit of 55, and just as I crest a small rise there is a car stopped in the middle of the road in front of me. The emergency flashers weren't on, it was just sitting there in park with the engine running, and the running lights on. I never saw it as I approached over the previous seven miles. If my seat-belt hadn't started acting weird, I wouldn't have slowed down, and there would have been absolutely no way I could have stopped in time. It would have been a 100mph+ rear end collision.

It never happened prior to that, and it never happened again, even when I did have the car up around the same speed.
