I like Trains

You might enjoy this profusely illustrated, mile-by-mile, photo-journal description of the original route of the B&O as well as the Metropolitan (D.C.) Branch. It's fascinating.

The same website follows the westbound course of:
The B&O's 1873 Metropolitan Branch, now CSX's Metropolitan Subdivision, starts in Washington, DC and progresses northwest to Weverton, MD, and then to Harpers Ferry, WV as the Cumberland Subdivision.

Also, here's a Flickr subscriber with a gargantuan passion for photographing modern trains: http://www.flickr.com/photos/royluck/sets/72157625882946386/

The photos are spectacular.

Did you bump this in hopes of Laurel posting a photo of a train tattoo?

Pathetic.

My grandfather was a train conductor in Peru when he was a kid, started at 15. Eventually he became a truck driver and a volunteer fireman.

I've ridden trains long distance a few times, always an experience.

Yes but did you ever experience a train?

Snicker....runs......

I really love the little engine that could....... but prefer the caboose.
