Internet Explorer and Firefox

Until recently I have used IE to access my email and Literotica but IE has been erratic and slow so I switched to Firefox.

Firefox runs faster for my email, and Literotica, but the typeface is harder to read.

When I submitted a story by copy and paste, in Preview line breaks appeared as a vertical bar. I'm not sure whether those bars would appear when reviewed for posting.

Help!

Two questions, please.

1. Would the difference in speed between IE and Firefox be explained by my bookmarks? I have nearly 100 in IE and 3 in Firefox.

2. How do I change the typeface in Firefox?

Any advice appreciated.

With a PC, go to tools/options/content.

With a mac, go to Firefox/preferences/content.

Thank you, Stella, for the answer to Question 2.

I'm using IE at present. I'll try to change Firefox when I next sign in.

The bars... are you C&ping from Word?

You might try copying from a plain text version, and see if that gives you the same results.

I did. The result with plain text was the same under Firefox i.e with bars but from IE either from Word or plain text the result was what I wanted.

The number of bookmarks should have no effect at all. Then number of malicious cookies in IE might be a lot of the problem. go through and delete any you don't have log-ins for of do busin3ess with on a regular basis. Then load Spybot search and destroy. Update it and then have it immunize IE and Firefox. Do an update and immunization at least once a week and that will kill a lot of the spy sites and their cookies

To change just the text size, go to view, om, click on zoom text only, and then zoom in to where you like it.

^This.

I assume you don't have a boatload of browser extensions such as search toolbars, etc. If you do, it's time to weed those out and disable/delete.

If Word's plain text isn't working, try cutting and pasting it into a true plain text editor such as notepad. None of the formatting from the fancier programs will survive that, and it should paste without a problem when you copy it from there.
