A: I have no idea what dolphin shorts are
B: I like high wasted fashion, in general, but these hit me the wrong way because of the top she's wearing. I don't like those billowy blouses- this whole thing looks like a Japanese gym uniform- which are hideous. If she were wearing, like, a tank top or a t-shirt or a blouse that didn't look like a parachute, these would work.
But yeah, I like short-shorts. I actually never wear shorts, because guy's shorts are pretty much pants. I don't think I even own a pair of guy's shorts. And I think all the women's shorts I wear are a looser fabric then denim- I used to have some denim shorts, I lost like, half my clothes when I moved.
But yeah, I would wear those. I like the buttons, i like the cut- I hate the top.

I remember in PE in middle school seeing the girls in their dolphin shorts. At first I realized that they were worn differently than boys shorts, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it (figuratively you perverts, lol). Then I realized that they could pull them all the way up like that because they didn't have anything hanging their like we did. I was like, wow, they are even cooler than I realized. I thought that was so cool they could pull their shorts up like that. I thought that would be one of the big advantages of being a girl. All these many years later, I don't get why you would want to have baggy shorts while playing sports if you don't need to, the less material in the way to slow you down or impede movement, yet girls basketball players wear the most hideously masculine ultra baggy sorts. Makes zero sense.

Of course, I knew the basics of human anatomy. I was a precocious reader for one thing. I just hadn't ever thought about how that would affect the mechanics of clothes positioning in the crotch area. I was a normal ten or eleven year old boy, I hadn't had any reason to ponder how girls positioned their shorts until I noticed the dolphin shorts.
