High school reunion?

Never had the opportunity: went to three high schools to cover five years of schooling! Got kicked out of the first one (I may have been a bit rebellious for them...), got redistricted out of the next one, the third one was converted into a vocational adult high school a few years later. All-boys schools.

Has anyone ever gone to theirs, 3rsp if they don’t live near where they high school was?
If so, how was it?
Esp interested in those from all boys or all girls high schools.

I never gone, but now that I’m older I was thinking about it. I am in touch with some high school friends on social media, but my besties are/were luddites ;)
I've gone to every reunion I've been interested in. Which is 0. I live in a city, and the thought of going to some farm town to hang out with losers in a barn has no interest to me.

Never been to a high school reunion.. and not really interested in seeing any former classmates..
My wife on the other hand was a class officer and has attended several.. I of course went
But most recently to a 50 year reunion. She went alone and came home so excited with ‘the compliments she received.
I must say she dose look great for 67 years old.
She was a good girl back in school and I’m sure the guys fawning over her at the reunion wished
They had a shot at her..

I have thought about going so the pretty people can eat their hearts out. I was skinny and ugly in high school and was a late bloomer. Would love to see how ugly they have become.

Mine’s in a city, maybe that’s easier. My mom went to her high school and parents to their college ones but only after they retired.

I've been to a few of mine, our 35th was the last my wife and I attended. We were classmates. the attendance has been dropping. I heard our 40th reunion was very poorly attended. 45th is next year. I don't think we'll be attending anymore of them, if there are any more. I'm still very close with the people that were my best friends and we're always in contact with each other.

I went back to go to my 20th. Big difference between the few that left town and the few that stayed. I’d say half of them are doing the same thing they did 20 years ago trying to re live their glory days under the Friday night lights.
That is so fucking goash (I don’t know how to spewl goaaash.)

Yer full of shit. You’re just the guy you don’t want to be and wouldn’t it be lots worse to learn that they arent? Yeah. Literally repeat, verbatim, what you might prefer to hear (or view).

And THAT's upsetting.

"Like, in short... I can't hang with people who arent just like me.

I like, like, ME only's. In general."

Sorry. I mean, that's what most of these responses sound like to... ME!

I have been to them all with my wife so no hooking up with old crushes. My graduating class numbered 23 people. Usually we get 12-15 classmates to show up. We laugh. We eat. We drink. The old cliques have long since fallen away. We have even gone to the point of inviting the class ahead of us (17 graduates) to join us. It is fun and nonjudgmental. Next stop is 40 year in 2028. My wife doesn't know it, but it will likely be at our shop.

The funny part is the most important (they thought) people never show up. It is all of us that were B level or less. Through the years, even the girls have seen what the holdouts really are.

My wife's class on the other hand, has had exactly 1 reunion in 30 plus years. They could not get along in school and have made no attempt to do so since. As one of the ladies in my class told my wife couple years back- "Fuck the class of 89. You belong with us in the class of 88." We have even reached out to a classmate's widow. Telling her she will always be one of us.
