JUST SAY NO TO ECONO-CARE!

My MD is a young guy who takes no Medicare or Medicaid and offers econo-care for a small fee. No tests. No bloodwork. No referrals. No expensive fees.

There was a time when this was standard policy everywhere. Thirty years ago, if I got athletes foot my old MD told me to change my socks at lunchtime and soak my feet in hot water with a little Lysol in it. Got a sinus infection? Gargle with salt after every meal. If you went in with a broken toe they told you to live with it. There still aint no cure for a broken toe but it costs $1000 for the doc to remind you.

I can go one cheaper - WebMD.com

A few years ago I fell running in the rain, and tore the rotator cup in my shoulder. It hurt so bad I had to lie down and cry.

The usual treatment for such injuries are multiple operations and little healing. But what I did was eat ALLEVE and lift heavy weights for 9 months till the injury healed. It wasnt fun but it was cheap and it worked.

You are obviously one of the elect.

I think of myself as just anuther Nigga that totes and lifts. If I get anywhere its cuz I can walk okay and dont wait round for the bus when I got places to go.

Interesting. Because the only way you know if you had actually torn your rotator cuff is from an MRI, and any physician would tell you that heavy lifting is probably the worst possible thing you could do for it.

But hey, poor people and "niggas" don't need to see doctors, they can diagnose and treat themselves with folk wisdom, home remedies, and WebMD.

The physician who practices medicine on himself has a fool for a patient.

Ask your cut rate doctor for a quote on bleeding stomach ulcers and kidney transplants. It would be a good idea to see what medicare can do for dialysis treatments, also.

only times i've been to a doctor was mainly as a kid, mother being a ninny and panicing over not much at all. got tonsils taken out as a kid. one grew back. had a hernia repaired at the age of 3. and two trips for strep throat in the 1990's.
i've almost been papralyzed by a horse riding accident, hit the ground and could not feel my legs for about 45 minutes, no doc. just lots of boring bed rest. back still bugs me on occasion, but doing fine.
broken my shin. obvious when you see the crack and blood pools in your ankle. no doc. just ice, comfrey, and rest.
broken foot as a kid. no doc.
broken finger this past september. no doc. splint it myself.
hyper extended elbow from martial arts. no doc. lots of ice, and beng careful with it, although it took a year to heal properly.
discovered a bleeding ulcer. solution, quit drinking. problem solved.

That's horrible! I don't believe in running to the doctor for every little sniffle, but those types of injuries require proper medical care. Next time get yourself to the doctor, you don't want to end up with an orthopaedic disfigurement. Take care of yourself :rose:

I spent a career working with dum shit MDs. I've seen them kill lotsa people in that time.

It's the second of January and we're already on our third Capitalsjohnson bullshit story. Geezer is starting 2012 with a bang.

Your career as a social worker has not served you well. As with most of your posts, it's all bullshit. Your cure for a torn rotator cuff is as suspect as your diagnosis. Your treatment duplicates the conditions of the injury.

I am sure after this, you'll tell us about your brief career as an orthopedic surgeon, which you abandoned because your patients did not respond to your heavy weight lifting therapy.

Lots of things wrong with this story:

Your injury was a partial tear (if it was a tear at all, because as it's been pointed out, only an MRI can diagnose a tear) because full tears don't "heal themselves". I know, I had a full tear a year ago, and there is no way it would have ever healed without surgery. In a full tear, the muscle pulls away from its attachment site like a snapped rubber band. There is no way it can ever reattach without being stretched back and pinned into place.

I was told that if it had been a partial tear that often it's left to heal on its own, so even surgeons will offer the cheaper route in that case.

Only one surgery is required. Rotator cup repairs rarely take more than one

There is a GREAT DEAL of healing following surgery for rotator cup repair. I have complete use of my arm now. The rehab sucked, but the surgeon's touch was perfect.

Since 1967 I've witnessed so many MD fuckups I lost count. Even with the xrays and bloodwork and the rest they miss most of it.

Six years ago, I fell and before I hit the ground, my arm was broken. The rotator cuff muscles did not tear. They pulled hard enough to split the ball end of my upper arm bone. The split was about 5mm wide. This is just below the threshold where surgery and pins are required. My orthopedic surgeon said, "This is what happens to you big armed boys." He also said to not touch a weight, or anything weighing over 5 pounds for 2 months and not to use that shoulder in work outs for a full year. If I reopened the split after bone tissue started to fill the gap, it would be much worse than if I had torn it wide open the first time.

Yes, you are my life.

Actually no. Of all the nonsense you have posted about your glorious achievements, this is the silliest. If you are going to lie, at least use a story that is plausible in some circumstance.

You must have done at least one thing in your life about which you can tell the truth.

My RC got damaged in a car crash, and then again years later again in a bike accident on the Brooklyn Bridge. I did physical therapy both times, but I have to say: it's never gotten back to 100%. I was in a softball league in CA when I was in the crash, and I never got to a point where I could chuck a ball far more than a few times (throwing for distance was the problem, not force) without putting my shoulder out of commission for a few days.

I can work out fine, and I do lots of shoulder work with no problem. It's something about that motion that does it in.

I post my real name. That alone puts me a few furlongs ahead of most here.

I stayed away from the gym for a year, as my doctor ordered and didn't go back when the orders expired. When I went back to full duty, I started having stabbing upper back pains. An xray revealed an elegantly curved spine between my shoulder blades. My left shoulder muscles pulled my back bone off center by about a 1/4 inch. I went back to the gym and started an upper body strength regimen. After 8 weeks of work outs, not only were the back pains gone, I had pain free full range of motion in the right shoulder.

Because Johnson is another word for dick.

Bronze, all-caps boy is a performance alt. It's just a character. Don't dive in too deep.
