Writing Goal for the Day?

Well, Tatyana, final dress rehearsal was a mess of slow pacing and costume frustration. I think it bodes... well.

PL, there's some good news! I'm looking forward to seeing your story up.

Which reminds me... the plot bunny bit last night. *eyeroll* I'm grateful for that, even with two other stories that are already cooking and one that needs that final bit of polish before I finally hit the "send" button.

Yay for messed-up rehearsals!

Yes, R&B1 is slated to go up tomorrow. I've got my days all mixed up for whatever reason, and thought today was Thursday. Duh.

Plot bunnies never come at convenient times.

Got a mainstream mystery out the door to a publisher in the early morning hours yesterday and got 5,000 words into a Dirk Hessian ancient China work yesterday. Hope to knock another 5,000 words of that off today. It's raining (thank god), so no raking of leaves possible today (really thank god). The punishment for living on a heavily wooded lot.

Running back through the editing of what now is 21000 words. Funny no matter how many times I read through this I still stumble upon things previously missed, no wonder even books that have been released and edited for mass publication still contain a few errors.

Yep, no such thing as perfect text.

Managed to key out 9,000 words to a Dirk Hessian Ancient China adventure yesterday. Striking for 4,000 words today, as the ground is rougher in this section of the work.

As I realized this morning, reading over my story that just posted, and then fixing it and submitting an edited copy. Sigh.

So I'm working on R&B8. I think it's a bit better and a bit smoother now. I hope. Still have hopes of working on a Christmas story, but for the two ideas I have I'm not sure it will work out, and combining them won't work either.

On the home front, the PTO (potty training offensive) is having success even in the early stages. Boy it'll be nice to put the pull-ups, etc., behind us (haha I crack myself up).

Yeah I was happy all that little kid stuff was behind me.

Then the boyfriends started coming along, and I started thinking that maybe diapers weren't so bad.

Thanks Red and PennLady for your encouragement. I really appreciated it.

I just posted "He, She and Him". Really you guys, I stressed and stressed over that one little love scene. You will have to check it out and tell me what you think. I'll be truthful, by the time it came to a name for the story, I was at a loss. That title was the best I could come up with.

The title reminded me of an excellent novel, "He, She, and It" by Marge Piercy. If you ever get a chance to read it, do. She's an excellent poet as well.

Now, I have to work on Chapter 2 of "Only for One Night".

Anna--I've been getting my singing and dancing groove on for you today.

PL--glad to see those two getting some show time. :) Boo about business trips, yay for potty training.

avrgblkgrl--post a link here when it goes up, OK? And I think I'll call you notsoavrgblkgrl; I felt like I was insulting you in the last sentence.

As for me, we're running behind on home front matters for a number of reasons, and I'm stressing about these jobs I've applied for. We're going to stay with the in-laws for Thanksgiving, and I don't think I can handle having an unfinished chapter at that point. Hopefully I'll find time tonight!

You're quite welcome, just glad you were able to trudge through. As soon as it hits the site, please send a link or post one. I'll definitely read it. :)

Congrats and good luck with your next piece of work.

It's getting a good reaction, and the biggest surprise is it already has 148 votes (yeah, I know, cue the trolls).

Good luck with everything. Go out to dinner for turkey day? Or is that anathema to the baker's heart?

lol, we'll be with the in-laws, so yes, I'd rather go out. ;)
However, the stress for Christmas dinner--and everything that goes along with hosting the relatives who will dine with us-- has already started.

You reminded me of the movie "The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover."

Nearly 8,000 words written to the Dirk Hessian ancient China epic today. Time to hang it up and do some novel reading.

So far, I've managed to cut about 13K words from HTSL, and I know there's more to be slashed. What kills me is there are two scenes that I need to write into it. Waiting on feedback on that, but not in a hurry. I'm also editing for another author, and stewing over my next writing project. So much going on in this head....

I'm going to add more to my 21000 words, hopefully another 3000 and polish off a new section of it. I'm also going to sketch out some pictures for an illustrated idea I have brewing in my head.

Mr. Penn is due back from California today. It's gone well in his absence, I must say. PennBoy has been well-behaved and PennGirl is learning to use the potty. Whew.

Syd -- I haven't forgotten, I swear. :) Cutting 13k -- woo hoo!

Didn't quite have the time or focus to write anything last tonight, and there's a school thing tonight and with Mr. Penn back, I'm just not sure any writing will get done. But maybe. I'm about 10 pages into R&B9 and figuring out how to get to the ending. Once I figure out how I want it to end.

We ROCK! Thanks to everyone for the energy. Tatyana, what really amuses me about this role is that I've taken years of dance lessons yet, like my character, I can trip over imaginary cracks in the sidewalk.

Opening night went well. We had good energy and a half-decent house. Last night, the audience was larger and seemed to pick up on a few more of the in-jokes and truly laughed out loud when we wanted them to. Only two more nights, which saddens and thrills me. I'll be relieved not to have to wear those skyscraper shoes anymore.

As for writing goals, I may have found a contact toward getting a publisher for my non-erotica! :) That same contact also gave me a wonderful plot bunny for an erotic story. Ain't multi-tasking great!

4k+ words already this morning

Coming off a ten day period of more than 41K words and No, I'm not doing NaNo.I just had a series of ideas that are writing themselves.

No worries, Penn. And congratulations to PennGirl! Woo hoo! When my oldest was potty-training, she once went all by herself in her little potty. She was so proud of herself that she wanted to show Mommy, and she picked up the potty bowl and carried it from the bathroom to the living room to show me her pee. All this with her pants still bunched around her ankles. How she didn't fall and spill pee everywhere, I'll never know, because she's now a notorious klutz.
