It Was Only A Hotel Maid

Nice games Freddie and Zeb play. Freddie challenges me to respond to questions and when I do Zeb slams me for doing so. Envy and bitterness are such frustrating taskmasters. :)

I'm happy to just post on the AH about my Lit. writing and published erotica. I have lots of it out there--and neither Freddie nor Zeb can dispute that, which just eats them up.

Do you think Freddie does it to poke at Zeb?

That's probably way too subtle and sophisticated, now that I think of it. ;)

Naw, Freddie's been poking at me since a long time before Zeb landed as an obnoxious neocon "make it up to fit" reactionary.

I think Freddie has a complex about his suppressed sexual desires. Not unlike many other gay bashers.

He certainly has a complex about acceptance of his writing here.

Now it's official. Comment?

Prosecutor: Former IMF leader indicted

NEW YORK – A prosecutor in New York says a grand jury has indicted former IMF leader Dominique Strauss-Kahn in connection with an alleged attack on a hotel maid.

The assistant district attorney did not specify the charge.

Strauss-Kahn was appearing before a judge Thursday in a bid for freedom while he awaited trial.

The former head of the International Monetary Fund arrived in the courtroom Thursday afternoon wearing a gray suit.

He turned to give a quick smile to supporters in the gallery that included a daughter and his wife, Anne Sinclair.

He has been behind bars since Saturday after he was accused of trying to rape a maid at a Manhattan hotel

He has bailed out now, or bail has been set. I don't know how much it is. Whatever the amount, the court or whoever gets the money might as well count that as their money, because I believe there is no possibility he will show up in court. That is just an opinion, but I am pretty sure I am right.

Why should he. He has been disgraced already, and there is no point compounding it by being sent to prison for a long time, which is what would almost certainly happen. It's even more likely France would refuse to extradite him, claiming he cannot get a fair trial, or some such excuse.

Why didn't you just read the available reporting rather than flying off on false assumptions and posting them? (but that's what you specialize in.)

The bail is set at $1 million--cash, backed up by a $5 million insurance policy. And he isn't being let free. He isn't going to be let out of jail until his wife has rented an apartment he has to stay in--and round-the-clock guards are set up to ensure he stays in the apartment and who will take him to court. He's back in jail tonight.

I just read that bail had been granted, but no details. Do you have a link to that? I still say he'll find a way to skip bail and go back to France where he would be virtually immune from prosecution.

Certainly I can give a link. The story's been out there for hours and hours. This is just you making false assumptions again and running with them and playing your Chicken Little game.

Freddie doesn't have any problems with his sexual desires.

Here's the latest: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110519/ap_on_re_us/imf_leader_assault

Ol' Dom's gonna be gone to Frogtown faster than spit off a hot griddle, 5Mill bail or no. Passports and other niceties mean nothing to the people. He knows if he sticks around here, he's in the Barbed Wire Hilton for 5 to 8...minimum. The Assistant DA's bagged a big fish and he sees a career maker in Dom's trial. ;)

What part about detained in a guarded apartment did you too not understand?

I really wish you reactionaries could do your Chicken Little "truth" picking and choosing more subtly.

In addition, passports aren't "niceties." An old, soft-life man escaping detention and pushing off of a Long Island beach in a canoe headed for France might work in your concept of a John Wayne movie, but . . .

Woooo...'reactionary'...'Chicken Little'...aren't we in a snit tonight.

Grab the reins, sparky. When you can lay your hands on the kind of bucks ol' Dom can, you can do anything you please. Remember, he knows where the IMF's buried the bodies; they spring him or he sings like a canary bird. Since he's resigned from the IMF chairmanship, he's got nothing to lose except his freedom anyway.

As far as movies go, Art imitates life, not the other way around...and it's just as spectacular. ;)

Let's just come back to this thread when what happens happens, Mr. Chicken Little. :D

Although I know review and evaluation aren't usually on the reactionary agenda--for obvious reasons.

The trial will drag on for months, giving his supporters plenty of time to hire muscle to spring DSK and arrange a private jet to take him to France. He won't need a passport to claim some kind of political asylum, and he won't be extradited.

He will probably show up in court, at least most of the time, but he will be back in France by the time the jury begins their deliberations.

This is a prediction, by the way. I have to admit I could be wrong. :(

That's so theatrically Hollywood. Puh-leeze. Private jet vs NORAD . . . yeah, right!

If you are proved wrong, will you stop this mullheaded provocation crap game you play on the AH?

I highly doubt this guy has any motivated friends for the foreseeable future.

Exactly. He's a embarrassment to the IMF and the government of France is not his friend. He's dead in the water. I hope his wife and daughter enjoy his fortune while he molders in the tanty.

Better be careful, Box. That kind of talk may have you branded a 'reactionary' by our resident expert on whatever happens to be under discussion at the moment. Worse yet, a 'Chicken Little'...oh, the humiliation of it all.

I'm unsure what you mean by mullheaded provocation crap. I sometimes make predictions and I sometimes present opinions, as does everybody else here. Occasionally, what I say will provoke a discussion. Sometimes I am proven to be wrong, as is everybody else here. Whether I am right or wrong, I will continue to post predictions and opinions here. :)

I rather doubt NORAD will scramble fighters to shoot down a plane carrying a passenger fleeing US jurisdiction, even if they are able to identify which plane it is. This would not be a matter of national security.

Here are my predictions.

This will go to trial. The defense will make the OJ defense look like amateurs.

The bastard will be convicted despite all the theatrics that money can buy.

The bastard will do time and it won't be in some Club Fed.

It's what happens to rapists on this side of the pond.

I think and hope that you are right. The French do not have a history of making friends here and this is where this will show.

Hopefully this sends a meeage to the rest of the arrogant swine that populate that country that the women are not secon class citezens and you can't do what you want over here.

So far my biggest fear has not come to pass and that is that Obama does not somehow get involved and turn this into another Skip Jackson disaster and at the end of the day apologozes to the french for an american woman leading him on.

Short of that I think this guy is going to be made an example of and it will serve to keep the rest of the French filth known as their diplomats the hell out of here.
