I have a quick q - and apologies to all if I couldn't figure out where this q belongs...
How long does it take to get a story posted if I submitted it in a word.doc?
Just wondering when I should check back and see?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

It should take three to five days, on the long end, if you've never submitted a story before. They check the new authors more carefully than ones they passed through before. In the interim, don't click on the pending button on your submission's page; it will send the story right back to the back of the line.

Onna,
I hate to sound discouraging but I was not able at all to get an illustrated story accepted. I first submitted it as a .doc file and it was eventually rejected due to the file type (despite the FAQ). I then resubmitted the story as text and emailed the pictures. The submission stayed in permanent pending state. I sent several pms over a span of about two months and was lucky to get a response to only one of them. The response basically asked how I submitted the pictures. I answered, resubmitted, tried every way I knew how, sent additional pms - nothing, no answers, no action, no reasons given, just pending state. I finally decided to submit the story as just text and it was accepted! Woohoo! I don't think Literotica is wanting to get illustrated stories (at least very few). That is my humble opinion. I still love the site anyway. Hope they will update the FAQ and remove the illustrated submission process because it simply is not accurate in my experience.
kind regards, Hankstr

I think just as pilot said, 3-5 days, sometimes longer. I remember when I was first submitting work here, I waited as long as 7 days. If you submitted it in .doc format, it might take longer as well because the editors/moderators will have to "format" the story. In the future, you're better off incorporating your own formatting into the story. Then you can copy and paste it right into the story text field.

There are several "articles" on how to use basic HTML formatting for your story on the Literotica Writers' Resources page, found here: http://www.literotica.com/storyxs/writ_stor.shtml

Also as pilot said, don't click on the blue "pending" link because that'll just move you to the end of the line and result in an even longer wait.

I haven't ever submitted an Illustrated work, but from what I've "heard" in the past, it's along the same lines as Text With Audio. They get posted on the New Story page about once a week or so. About all you can really do is try again and if you have problems PM Laurel again.

Have you looked for other fellow illustrated writers here on Lit and then asked them how they went about it? Specifically look for artists who've recently done it. I know it's still done.
