Unexplained occurences

Interesting that you say you found out a death occurred there. In Texas it is mandatory that if a death occurred in a home it has to be revealed to potential purchasers. Nothing like that in Oklahoma?

No idea..we were never informed of anything

I have always been a very skeptical person. A logic driven individual. The science over religion type.

That being said, when I was 9-10yrs old, I live in a house that I'm certain was haunted. I lived there with my Mom and brother after my parents were divorced. It was a two story house, but we only used the first floor, since the second floor had been converted to an apartment that. The upstairs apartment was never rented out when we lived there, but weird things happened up there all the time. We would hear footsteps on a regular basis, furniture moving/ scrapping across the floor, and windows would open up. We would go upstairs to make sure no one had broken in and it was always empty and nothing looked out of place except for the open windows. Windows that were on a flat wall 15 or so feet off the ground, no way to get to them from the ground without a ladder.

We only lived there for a year, never really had any ghostly visits or anything, but the sounds came nightly. We later learned from a neighbor that the woman who previously had owned the house was very old ad often sick. She got really sick and her children came to take her to the hospital, she protested the whole time saying she wanted to die in her home where her husband had died. But the kids took her to the hospital anyway, where she soon died.

We always assumed after we heard that it was the old woman's ghost upstairs, stubbornly staying at the house her children wouldn't let her die in.

So my wife called me at 4am this morning freaking out. Apparently she woke up to have a man standing over her in a long black trench coat. She said she woke up to footsteps on our hardwood floors. I am down in San Antonio for a family funeral so I wasn;t there.

She said she heard the footsteps and thought maybe it was something else. She waited a bit and it finally stopped. She was trying to go back to sleep and all of a sudden felt something hit the side of the bed. She sat up and there was a man in a trenchcoat staring at her. She screamed put the covers over her and started crying. She then waited a minute pulled the covers back off of her and whatever she saw was gone.

We have had odd occurence quite a bit lately in this house. Like I have said numerous times I have never believed in ghosts or anything like that but these strange occurences are starting to make me feel differently.

Not to slight what happened to the missus in the slightest, but I think it might be time to get one of these:

I hear that guys in trench coats--carbon based and ethereal--do not like them.

And if I was leaving someone alone in a spooky house, I'd want them to have one. Just sayin'.

I have never had anything in a house happen that I could explain as my mind playing tricks on me in the dark....However, one night I was driving home on a highway and had a woman walk out in front of me. There is no way I could have missed her. When we stopped, my girlfriend, at the time, and I got out and looked but found no one there. I can still see her face to this day. I wish my girlfriend hadn't been asleep so I had a witness.

IHC, what you described is basically what I have heard in the house I'm in. I've heard footsteps when no one is here but me. Doors slamming and I go to check it out and find nothing. The woman that lived here before I did haunts the house. My Grandmother has seen her ghost before. I have never seen the ghost but I don't doubt that she is here. I think the woman died of natural causes. The house I'm in is a very large victorian house.

I don't post alot usually because I have nothing to say, could be the ones who are calling you an idiot are just scared of this topic either because they have had something happen and don't want to be reminded or are afraid that something could happen.

Me, not sure if you would say I am a skeptic or not. I have never had any thing happen to me personally. I want to believe in the paranormal just not sure, if that makes any sense. Though my youngest daughter use to hear and see ghosts or spirits, or so she told me. I am open minded enough to know that I am not anyone who can tell her that she didn't. I took her at her word, she was only about 8 or 9 at the time, I have asked her in the past year if she still sees or hears anything, she said not for a while, not since we moved into the house we are in now.

This thread took an odd turn.

Believe me I would be the first to judge and yell insanity if I hadnt experienced some of the unexplained stuff we have. I have always been a skepticle. Ghosts, aliens, big foot, all of that. Just a lot fo odd things happening around our house lately.

The way I see it, say what you think and don't care what others think.

of course you'd say that

as u then made a quick move behind ur gf so she was the first person in the room

Whatever is going on in our house it kept us both of us up all night last night. What sounded like heavy footsteps were heard most of the night. A plate broke in our kitchen last night. It fell off the counter and broke to pieces. The dogs were in their kennel so they didn't cause it.

Just very odd things going on. Like I have said numerous times I am very skeptical when it comes to ghosts and goblins, but I am rapidly running out of excuses for all of these occurrences. Who knows.
