Recently having great m2m sex with a regular guy I play with. In the afterglow we were chatting, about bi's, gay's and lesbians. He asked "How do they square that with the Bible?"

I don't have an answer. Do you?

nobody has that answer.

all you can do is try to live a good life, try not to hurt people and learn from the mistakes you make so no matter what happens in the end you've got all your bases covered.

My catholic lesbian friend had a nice answer. She says two women together technically isn't considered sex by the church, so she's free to be as promiscuous as she wants.

No, I don't have an answer as to how to square homosexual activity with the bible. I don't feel the need to do that.

But here are my thoughts on the subject:

1) God made us the way we are.
2) God wants us to be happy.

So as long as you're not using or hurting anyone, enjoy!

Say what?

You're wondering how to "square" your sex life with the mores of Israel of more than two thousand years ago?

Oy, Leviticus.

Personally, I don't waste my time trying to square anything with the bible; I am an atheist. And most thinking queers that I know have dumped the screeds of the Xtian religion in the trash, even if they are believers.

Okay, if I understood what you wrote correctly, in the afterglow of great sex...male to male - the guy you had said, "great sex" with, chatted. 'Guy' asked about how do gays and lesbians square 'that' with the Bible.

What's 'that' ?

What does m2m mean to you?

Cuz to me, it means male to male and to me, that means you and your friend had gay sex.

No, great gay sex.

So its not, to me, about how do 'they' square that with the bible. Its how do you and your male sex mate square the great m2m sex you had with the Bible.

Otherwise, your post is not touchy to me. Cuz its your and/or your m2m's guy's point of concern. Not mine.

Additionally, I do not wonder about the Bible after great sex. FFS.

And I sure as hell don't care about what ppl think about what others think about what me and my sex partner think or just did or did not do in the privacy of my or his or her home as consenting adults can and often do, or don't do, regardless of sexual preference(s); whether it me m2m, f2m, m2f, etc etc etc.

Honestly, don't do it if you're going to talk about the Bible afterwards.
Good Gawd!

We're all atheists - you just believe in one more God than me

Don't be fooled

I'm with Stella (BTW--hi Stella). Do some research on how the bible was developed. It is a book meant to do just what it is doing to you--control and make you feel guilty. Constantine brought a group together and they developed the bible to "create" one religion in order to consolidate his land under one belief system. His legacy still gives power to the few to control the many, and limits the rest of us that what we do and who we are is "sin."

There is no god as defined by man. But there is a sort of "GOD," in the beauty of all things, and all things in their way never die. Our atoms and dust eventually regenerate to feed the plants and etc. Life is beauty and freedom. Man tries to stifle that beauty to control, don't let it happen, and enjoy love in the many manifestations that it finds. No blame, no shame . . .

We are as we are, and there is nothing that "man" can do about it. To deny yourself the bliss of love and sex with whom you love is misery.

This seems to be contract law language.

God is above contract law. God will judge what is going on in your heart, not what body parts you are rubbing against other people's body parts. As long as it is between mutual consenting adults.

It is the church that is threatened by it.... The church wants the control.

God knows what is in the heart. As humans, we have choice.

Okay, I am a former preacher and I have read the bible many times over and according to the bible people like myself bi and gay will go directly to hell, do not pass go and do not collect 200 dollars. However I left the church and do not read the bible now so the main thing is that I am happy with my sexuality. It does not matter what the bible says, it matters what I think of myself.

It's only a problem if you take the bible literally. In which case, please throw out your cotton/poly and stop shaving your beards.

The bible was written by humans who didn't know much about sperm production, and thought it to be available in very limited supply and thus its use was determined to be meant solely for procreation... hence a man shall not lie with another man as he lies with a woman, or spill his seed on the ground, masturbate, yada yada yada. Because it's wasting a valuable and scarce resource... or so they thought.

You square it with the bible by getting an education and learning that the people who wrote the bible knew very little about the world they were trying to reconcile, and dismissing their wackjob decrees without a worry in the universe.

Either that, or start asking yourself how you square the choice to not own slaves or stone your daughter with the bible.

Okay *pulls on scholar's hat* This is coming from a girl who grew up in deep southern baptist roots - and is now pagan. I went to a baptist University..this is what my Old Testament survey professor told us.

The mandates of the OT in regards to specific behaviors were created for HEALTH issues.

Back in the day, there was no way to butcher certain animals safely so it was considered OFF LIMITS due to food poisoning and other wonderful things. Hence the restrictions on food and preparing.

Sabbath - to make sure that people didn't kill themselves with overwork.

HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR - cleanliness issues! There were no condoms for anal penetration - hence nasty nasty infections that could kill! Also, lube was iffy as well which meant tearing in the rectum and even anal passage, which couldn't be treated.

SOOOOO...you could argue that it's outdated because we do have ways to rectify this situation.

*takes off hat and gets off soapbox*

Wow, I have never read a more erroneous interpretation of the Old Testament in my life.

Sure there was a cultural aspect to the Old Testament, but to argue the Old Testament law centered on health is simply crazy.

I'm with you on the lack of ancient lube, but condoms were definitely available!

First time I heard of them showing up was like 16-1800s...if you've got info on before that, I'm interested! lol..anything historical.

If that's what you want to say, whatever. Show me the sheepskin with the PhD in religion and I'll step back.

Whatever..

Thank you! I knew about the one that showed up in 1700s. The earlier eras, I hadn't heard. I learned something new today lol

Fuck religion. If there's a hell we're all going there anyway no matter who or what we screw. That's my answer.

Fuck religion. There is no hell, and no afterlife. So make love and pleasure happen in the life you have right now.
