Chicago South Side Bdsm Play...

You know what? There must be. You just gotta do some more research.

:rose:

I have a friend in a LD relationship with someone in Chicago. They started one in the southwest area. There is a group about it on fetlife.

The fetlife group "Kinky in Chicago" has over 1,400 members. I know a few south siders from munches and such. Anyone who claims there is no bdsm play to be had on Chicago's south side must also think you can't get a decent Chicago hot dog south of Addison street.

Research, man, research.

If I liked Chicago style hot dogs, that would make me a happy camper!

*lives north of Addison*

>_> Oh right.

*settles thread back on track*

What, you don't like a small side salad in the bun with your dog? Or is it the violently green relish? ;)

A little of column A, a little of column B. :p

What's wrong with just having a hot dog? What's the point of having the meat in the first place if you're going to cover it with all that other stuff?

I like simple food, if you can't tell. XD The most I'll really go for is kraut on my brats.

Actually, and this is for the edification of all readers because I assume you already know some or all of this, the purpose of all the salad-like trimmings on a Chicago dog goes back to the Depression. The Vienna Beef Company started selling dogs in this style for a nickel to help make it easy for men who were out looking for work to get a somewhat more nutritious meal than a straight hot dog in a bun. I have no idea where the extraterrestrial green relish came from, though.

I'm all for simple food, too, as long as it's high quality food cooked really well. Ever been to Hot Doug's for a dog or similar?

I didn't even know Chicago was famous for their hotdogs. Only been there once and that was on a bus in the navy. Headed for Rantool. Did a winter there. Jesus Christ, I'd shoot myself if I had to live there. Once we had a -88 wind chill.

Were you here in the early 80s? I remember some hellacious wind chills from back then. One Sunday in '81 or '82 I froze my beard on a 3 block walk to get a newspaper.

Okay, if it ever gets that cold, my ass is locking itself in my apartment and telling work to go fuck itself.

I think you're safe. Last year we had two days in a row where the daily high never topped 0 F but that was the first time that we'd had two such days in a row in at least ten years. The coldest wind chill that I can remember in the 20 years we have had children in school - which is one reason to pay attention to such things - was about 30 below and that was over 15 years ago.
