I'm crious and am looking for opinions from all people. Do you have any tattoos or piercings? Where are they done? What are they of? Do you regret any of them?

I have a small tattoo on the lower small of my back. I have considered adding some additional design to it.

Additionally, I have tossed around the idea of getting my clit and/or nipples pierced. I am 29 and have 2 children. Am I too old for something like this? Are there any bad side effects? Does this type of thing even turn a man on?

What are your thoughts?

I only have one tattoo right now, but I do plan more soon. I know some guys are turned off by them, but my hubby loves the fact that I want more. As long as they're tasteful, I think tattoos are a beautiful thing.

As for the piercings?
I don't have any of those, but my friend runs a piercing shop. 29's not too old for those types of piercings; he was telling me about a 60 year old woman that came in and wanted her nipples done.

The biggest thing is being clean with them. You get an infection with those (especially anything in the lower regions), you're going to be in some major trouble. Check out the shop you plan to have it done at. Make sure that they've got the proper equipment, and that they can show you some type of certification that says they're up to code- and that its RECENT. Talk to them about what you plan to get done, and whatever they tell you to do as care should be followed to the letter. It's not just suggestions from them; it's the proper care. My friend's had a few people that came back in to complain that their piercing got infected, but then confessed that they had ignored what he told them.

But again, if you really want to know the yays, nays, and heads-ups on the subject, head to a shop and talk to their crew. You might feel a little embarrassed about it, but hey- if they're gonna pierce it, they're gonna see it, and they're gonna know you've got the piercings once it's done. May as well be comfortable talking about your parts with them before you start showing your parts to them.

Well, let's see...I'm the big 3-0 and I have 3 kids, and I have 11 tattoos and (currenly) only one piercing. I have never met anyone who had anything negative to say about my tattos or piercings...well, except my Dad, but that's to be expected!

My tattoos are all easily hidden. The one I have above my right breast is the on that shows the most, and the 4 that I have on my ankles show when I'm not wearing socks. The others are on my back and hip. Two of the ones on my back show when I wear tank tops in the summer. When I dress for work, or an interview, it is easy to cover them all. I love my tats and plan to get at least one more! I don't regret a single one. I'm taking my fiancee to get his first as soon as we can afford it.

I have my tounge pierced and have for about 11 years now. It drives me crazy to have it out now...it's worse then when I'm not wearing my (finger) rings! I've had my belly button pierced three different times, but it never would heal, so I've finally given up on that one. I used to have my hood pierced, and I loved it, but it ended badly! I wore a curved barbell and it would contantly twist. It was uncomfortable when it did that, and over time, the hole became stretched out. One day I went to the bathroom and realized that the barbell was missing! On closer inspection I discovered that the hole had stretched so much that it finally tore out. It didn't hurt, and to this day I have no idea where the barbell ended up, but my hood is now completly bisected. It just isn't there anymore! I've thought about going to a plastic surgon and having it fixed. It does make a bit of a difference in my sexual stimulation since it's been gone.

Every man I've been with has loved my tats, and especially loved my tounge and hood piercing. I've personally never had any desire to pierce anything on my face, or my nipples, but a friend of mine has her nipples pierced and she loves it!

I say, if you want to do it, go for it! It's your body, and you have to live with it. I have the theory that if your body is your temple, you should be able to decorate it! You put stained glass windows in a church, right? Why not be able to put some pretty pictures on your body?

I went and had my nipples pierced about 4 months ago and I am over 40...No complaints, just make sure you keep them clean. For the nipples, I highly suggest the saline spray sold by most piercers and even at some jewelry shops, if not most drug stores sell a "wound care" saline spray without preservatives. The premixed spray makes it easier than mixing your own (or it was for me).

Next up is a tattoo. Yes it will be lower back, as not going to be acceptable in my place of work, but will make me be ME!:)

I have a large tattoo on my back, from neck to lower spine, as well as a palm-sized one on my outer right thigh.

I'd had my navel pierced, but learned that I react poorly to most piercing metals, so until I can (a) lose weight, and (b) find a shop that carries a material I can deal with, no more piercings for me.

I'm also 29.

My SO and I are both 46 and both have tats. I have three with 3 more in the works, she has one with three or four in the works. I'm seriously contemplating getting my nipples done and she is thinking about having her hood done. She has three peircings in one ear, two in the other and her belly-button pierced.

Although all of our ink is covered by everyday clothes, beachwear doesn't cover them. Neither of us have had any negative comments and, in fact, I could not even start to count how many people have asked where we got our work done.

All that being said, ink and piercings are a personal choice and not something to be judged by anyone else. If you like the idea of both, get them. They are yours to enjoy first and no one elses. If you are in and around people that enjoy both, great. My experience has been that I enjoy them and just be natural process, the people I hang out with enjotyy them too.

California license plate, tramp stamp or Bulls-eye (Wedding Crashers) on my lower back. I will find a pic and post it of the tatt. Also have my pussy lip pierced (hubby and BF says it get in the way of oral but it really looks good and I like it, so it stays.)

In my siggy is a site I love for non piercing jewelry. I do not have the guts to get my nipples pierced but LOVE that look too. So I use fake jewelry.

I sometimes wear a fake MFFM tattoo (yes, we are swingers). That site also sells them. Hey, nice people, giving them a plug.

I think I want a real MFFM tattoo on my right ass cheek. Whatta ya think?

That's me in the picture.

Me

PS, my OBGYN is now doing piercings as he said he is tired of seeing all the infections from people that do not do the piercing in a sterile setting. Go figure.

I have 3 tattoos; stars on my foot, roses and butterflies on my shoulder, and cherry blossoms that take up the majority of my back. I've had my tongue pierced for about 4 years now and other than the initial first couple weeks it hasn't been a big deal. I use acrylic balls and don't play with it a lot so tooth chipping or gum damage hasn't been an issue for me. I had my nipples pierced for a little over a year. They were super sensitive in the beginning but after 8 or 9 months it seemed like I was always protecting them from something or another. Plus I found that guys didn't really know what to do with them as it made it awkward for them and they didn't want to accidentally do something to hurt me. I actually like my nipples better now without them.

I'm 21 with five sets of piercings (three in my ears, nipples, and belly button). I don't currently have any tattoos but I am seriously thinking about getting one on my lower back (I have the exact site on my back picked out) for my 22nd birthday (in March). Haven't quite picked out a place yet, though, because I live in a college town it shouldn't be that hard to find a decent place and I have a recommendation for a place in Portland, OR too, so I have a few to choose from.

Now, with the piercings do be careful. I had a previous piercing in my nipple reject--the piercer who did it the second time said it probably had something to do with the metal it was pierced with, so he pierced them with titanium and they've shown little to no symptoms of rejection (they have migrated a little bit, but so have all the rest of my piercings, including ears). But I did know previously that I have problems with metals that aren't hypoallergenic (meant that my bottom two ear piercings had to be done with gold studs and the top ones with titanium) Oddly enough, I have no idea what metal was used for my belly button. After they've completely healed--we're talking minimum of nine months to a year here--I can switch them to stainless steel (minus nickel) and I'm fine.

The only thing I regret is that my first nipple piercing rejected because it made the second piercing quite painful because he had to go through scar tissue (my partner, who came with me as kind of a good luck charm, swore I nearly broke his hand with how hard I squeezed it when the needle went through)--and I have a moderately high pain tolerance too.

Women with piercings are hot. Women with tattoos are hot.

Some notes from a guy with ink and a tattoo artist as a hetero life mate:
-Please don't be another girl with a butterfly
-Please don't be another girl with angel wings
-Tribal is only acceptable as an accent to a picture
-Yes, it will hurt
-Pick what you like, to hell with anyone else, even me, it's your body
-If Your tattoo gets messed up, or you do not like the picture later on, it can ALWAYS be covered up with another, or it can be fixed.

I was once asked by a devout Christian how I dared to ruin god's property. I replied "If anyone has an appreciation for controversial art, it's the being that invented the platypus."

I have one tattoo currently. I was in a major car accident as a teen and I had to get my heart fixed (yes, I've truly can say I nearly died of a broken heart). It left a large scar on my back where they opened me up. I wanted to celebrate my miracle at living over the incident and the scar was nothing more than a trophy. I wanted to make it more beautiful, but not cover it. So I have ivy traced around the tat with the word "Live" written into the branches. It was custom done and hand lined onto my skin before I went under the needle for eight hours straight. Fully colored and done by one of the best artists in my state.

I'm going back to get a portrait of my son on my leg and eventually one of my daughter but I don't know where yet.

I use to have my eyebrow pierced but had to take it out for work and it's closed up. I have been thinking about getting my clit pierced. The guy at the tat shop where I will be getting pierced is someone I've known for awhile. He's uber hot and we use to catch each other staring at one another from across the room when we worked at the same factory. I think it would be a kind of fun way to break the ice. :)

I'm 30, no tattoos, nor do I ever want any. I can't say that I've ever seen a tattoo that I have liked, but don't have issues with people who have smaller tatoos which can't be seen in jeans and t-shirt, and I have dated guys with tattoos. I really don't like the large or very exposed (hands, neck, face, lower arms etc) tats. They just seem, well, "loud" and that's not my my style. Peircings are the same - I have one in each ear lobe and that is all I ever want.

Three Tattoos and counting

I'm 46, I have three tattoos at the moment, a burning feather on my shoulder blade by Kore Flatmo before he became a name in tattooing, a evil smiley face on my let wrist by Twig of "Inked" while the show was on the air, and an EKG strip of my first save as a paramedic on my left arm by a talented Cincinnati artist named Joe, owner of No Regrets. I have plans on full sleeves after my career is finished in a few years, Emergency Services are a little uptight, and so the rest of the ink will have to wait. I had a frenulum piercing for several years that was enjoyable.

Women with ink / piercings are a plus with me.

Set an appointment for my fourth today. It will be a heart under the words "The Purest Love is Your First Love". That one is going across my upper back. Then there is the 5th that will be a surfer chick and longboard on my left calf. That one will be this spring before surfing season starts. The sixth will be over spring break. My brother and I are getting our handshake tattoo'd on our right shoulder

My girlfriend is extensively tattooed, though she has had to take most of her piercings out for work since I first met her.

Since you've already been tattooed, it won't be anything new to you. Some parts of the body are more sensitive, but you can get pretty much anything done. Certain areas, like say the wrist, preclude you from doing finer detail. It just doesn't tend to show up well. On the other hand, there are still huge surface areas of skin that can be covered.

The tattoos will fade over time as they age. And your body will change. That is a big consideration to bear in mind. I've seen some tattoos that look great years, even decades after the fact. And others that look like absolute shit.

Remember, always go with a professional tattoo artist.

As for piercings, what are you considering? Do you want to extend your earlobes and go with gauged piercings? If so, remember that its a gradual process. Its also one of the easier things to do. Personally, I prefer the feel of organic jewelry or metals like bronze but thats opinion.

Facial piercings like eyebrow, nose and septum can be more fun. If you are getting a tongue or lip piercing, you will have to be careful for a while.

Nipple piercings you shouldn't have any real problem with, though I am told its quite the sensation. Just something you might want to be aware of.

Me? Hardly!
If we were all the same, it would make life very dull. Everyone else here seems to be very fond of tattoos, so I don't see why you have to call me names for having my own opinion.
To each their own. Live and let live. Whatever rocks your boat. *tries to think of another cliche*

I have three tattoos, one on my lower back and one on each of my upper arms just below the shoulders.

The back one is a star within a ribbed circle, about 3 inches across. It is African and means "I change my life". I got it three months after leaving my ex husband. I was 43.

The second is a tribal heart about the same size, on my left shoulder. At the time it seemed to symbolise the relationship I was in, but sadly that ended. The third is another tribal, a kiwi. It is the symbol of my country of birth. I was 48 when I got that one.

All of them can be hidden if necessary. All are in black ink (I am not a fan of coloured ink, although I can admire a nice art work on others).

My only piercings are two in each earlobe and one in the cartilage of my left ear, that one took forever to heal because it was done with a gun and if I'd known then what I know now I would have got it done at a proper piercing place instead of a chemist shop  A friend who is a piercer did my belly button but it migrated out after about 18 months and I haven't bothered to get it done again.

Guy's perspective here;

If there were a 'good-girl' counterpart in the form of a male it would be me. I find myself very attracted to women who have tattoos and piercings and have that aire of wildness to them. Finding out a woman has a tattoo or piercings (and not just the 'pretty' stuff) tells me that they are adventuresome and are artistic. Except for nasal and eyebrow piercings, I just do not understand those and everytime I see them I think how goofy it must look when they sneeze.
