Posting to Loving Wives

In a way I guess I was trying to tempt fate. The EC placement resulted in a sweet short story with a respectable rating but relatively few reads. I think the mention of the husband and wife in the description may have hurt me there.

Like it has been said, people don't want to read about the "boring" stuff.

Yep, selling to the wrong crowd would probably hurt. :rose: Bummer!

Well I posted to LW, because I thought it was a catagory about a wives that love their husband and vice versa. A committed couple can be sexy, and do just about anything that is written about here...they just do it to each other.

Carlotta, I've posted dozens of stories to loving wives. Yes the readers will accept a loving couple. Here is one of my lastest to that category.

Blue Eyes Crying My life, a truly loving wife's story.

The readers in LW do not like wimp husbands or cheating wife's. They are not big on reconcilliation, but that will get mixed reviews.

If you have broad shoulders and don't mind negative comments, it's a fun place to post and you will get a lot of reads, replies and comments.

Hope this helps.:)

I submitted to Erotic Couplings, but my story got put in Loving Wives due to the subject matter. I removed the story, but not because I was bothered by the death threats and the bad comments. I just didn't have time to finish it. If I ever get the chance to finish it I'll repost it as a complete work. And then the death threats will probably get so much more interesting.

DGHear's got the LW formula down - lots of Hs there..

This is the latest comment I got:

As a Survivor contestant, a few categories give me fits...LW is one of them. I still don't know what to do with it...and if not for the contest I would never post there.

I’ve only posted one story in the LV category, and it was fairly well received. I suspect I dodged the usual LV troll outrage because I wrote my story from the point of view of a young guy involved with a reluctant wife trying to accommodate her insistent, voyeur husband.

Other than avoiding the category altogether, I also suspect that the best way to suppress the trolls is to write LV stories in the third person. That way, the writer should not be mistaken for a participant. (I say ‘should’ because LV trolls don’t seem to understand that the vast majority of erotic stories are merely works of fiction.)

Now that I think of it, perhaps a disclaimer, at the beginning, stating that the LV story is purely a work of fiction would also help.

Too funny. Is this like the Jomar flu or something?

That might help, but I get nasty comments from third person stories or from those in the first person. There is little difference.

I actually laugh at the nasty comments. The last story I posted in LW was in first person about me and a woman who loved anal sex, but whose husband thought of that as a perversion. The more insulting comments I get the more I like it, because I take them as compliments telling me that the story was good enough to get people riled up.

So, writing in the third person doesn't help. So much for that idea.

Well, I've been working on a sequel to my first LV story. We'll see what happens when I post it.

Loving Wives stories do really well if the Bitch is burned at the stake in the end and her wimpy-ass husband is butt fucked by the entire Dallas Cowboys Football team..

Don't like the first part, but have you got one of those IKEA thingys to show how to assemble the second part?

Not that he's been an asshole, of course.

I dunno, I kinda like the LW's cat. :D

I haven't written any for a couple of years, but it used to be great fun to post stories about a wifey that cheats on her abusive hubby with another chick, dumps his ass to become a dyke (who thinks all men are assholes) and then comes back to "Lorena Bobbitt" him. It's like sand papering their asses and them squirting them with iodine! They go doubly ape shit if she gets away with it. Talk about your hate PMs!

Amy and I used to read those comments and laugh our asses off! ;)

The positives of posting your story in the LV category (Yes, there are a couple of positives.) are:

1. Your story will receive a lot of hits. In comparison to any of my other stories, my single LV story has received over twice as many hits.

2. Your story will receive a lot of votes. In comparison to any of my other stories, my single LV story has received one-third more votes.

So, if you’re just looking for attention, LV is, definitely, the place to post.

iIam a new author and have posted two stories to "Loving Wives", Welcoming the Fleet Home and Getting Reacquainted. For the most part I got good, constructive, feed back. Today I got an anonymous e-mail that was rude, made personal attacks, and was inaccurate as to the story parts quoted. It made me sick to my stomach it was so bad. I understand that there will be anonymous assholes that are just there to be rude. It was still very distressing.

My other concern is if I am posting my stories to the right topic. My stories are about a loving wife. Is that not what this section is about? Am I being naive?

Any constructive help is welcomed. Right now I feel like an amoeba in a very large pond.

Carlotta

:) The title of the category's a misnomer, hun. You won't get half so many comments - but if you're wanting to avoid the sharks, Romance or Erotic Couplings are the categories into which you might want to consider posting. To be honest though, whatever category you post into, you'll still get the occasional off-the-wall or downright mean comment.

Welcome to Lit :rose:

Constructive Help - Don't post in Loving Wives unless you have good armour. You are actually fortunate you only had one asshole comment.
I Concur. Actually, it isn't so much that loving wives is a hard category to write, it is an easy genre. However, readers get more than a little testy. You want to felch? OMG WATCH OUT! Your wife wants to be a team player (and I do mean 25 or more team members) WATCH OUT!

I have always felt the loving wives category should be better defined. I'd love to see a cuckold category, for one. I am not sure what the other branch of loving wives would be called? The whole category looks like cuckolding to me. :)

But when I wrote a cuckolded story there, I received some very violent commentary, even a veiled death threat. Always wondered why they identified with the hubby rather than the guys getting it off with the good woman...

Yeah, I know. This is why I think 'loving wives' should be broken into cuckold and something else. I am not sure what that 'something else' is though. lol. Any ideas?

Yes, Carlotta, if it's not getting said enough, we're all very glad you're here. Welcome.

Sometimes I think, "Gee, I haven't opened a death threat in my inbox in a while, maybe I should post a new story to LW."

If I don't like a story I usually don't finish reading it. If something happens at the end that I don't like for artistic reasons I might message the person and tell them what I think would of been a better scenario. As far as I can tell the people that send the death threats are the ones getting off on your story. They're just some form of masochist.

I remember we came up with three designations at one time... vengeful husbands, cuckolding wives, and loving spouses.

The names we had were cooler than that, though. And the writers would still get death threats from the readers of the other forms...
