Dipping my toe into loving wives

But avoiding the landmines by writing the stories one faction (monogamy-only!) wants does a disservice to the others who WANT the extra-marital sex, sharing, and fun.

I just endure the shit-for-brains haters who don't bother to actually engage a brain cell and READ my story. I'm satisfied with anyone reading my stories, whether they like it or not. Those who open the story to merely click a 1-star and close it are the trolls. But hating is all they have in their pathetic life!
For sure. Their loss, and I applaud readers who judge on the writing quality rather than whether they approve of the intimate acts involved. My own modest efforts in LW include a cuck-light story (rated 3.87) and a BTBastard story (rated 4.66), and honestly although the latter one is definitely a much better story, it's not that massively better to deserve the score difference. I just want to be sure that people understand that it is possible to navigate the issues and do it in a way that respects the audience, without assuming that all LW readers are trollish bastards. Some of them are, but most are not.

I totally agree that the negative readers aren’t at all “trolling bastards.” I think they have visceral emotional relationships with some of these stories and that’s what we want as writers. I do think there can be a little bit of “kill the messenger” in those reactions, though. In the end though, I don’t see the solution as changing my themes or adding tacked-on consequences that are more dream fulfillment than they are in the spirit of reality. I’ll live with being provocative and writing what makes me happy.
That said, I tried to look at things differently in my entry to the Summer contest, which went live today. Would love to hear any feedback!
