Maybe it's living shit. I have sometimes heard somebody say something like "...beat the living shit out of..." and maybe it happened and it ended up in the sewer where shit usually ends up.

Okay, okay. I got sucked in ... er I mean intrigued. We're studying extremophiles this week in astrobio.

Now I'm nauseous. That was positively disgusting! If my dirt sample I collected today and did a major UV sunburn on in lab looks like this gross creature, I'm withdrawing!
