Got to 90 degrees today. That's the usual signal to us in this Mediterranean climate that spring is ending and summer is beginning. It always happens around Earth Day: we get an April scorcher and from there it's shorts, sandals and sleeveless tees. Summer is here!

And time to bring out these, of course!

No, not the women, the swim suits!

Ahh winter

Unless you live in the southern hemasphire, then its ahhh winter.
No more 47 degree days, no more bush fires just beautifull calm clear skys and a pleasant 20 degrees.

I should post a pic of me in a jumper coat and scarf here, perhaps later.

Gumtree

Spring is just starting for real here in New Jersey and you are talking about summer already...

Summer you say !?!?!?!

It's been 40 degrees and rainy here the last three days. We were supposed to get snow flurries last night and this morning. What I would give for summer to finally be over.

But at least it's supposed to be 70+ degrees this weekend... too bad I'll have to work:rolleyes:

Switch places with ya! We're talking heat with not a stir in the air. :p All the fans in the house are blowing. I hate it.

But yes, I'm afraid it's true. Summer hits us mid-April (give or take a week or two of "gloomy" clouds in May), just like Spring arrives for us around mid-Feb.

Whereas here it hit a warm and balmy thirteen degrees today, so I was out in my shorts.

Summer is a coming in, loudly sing cuckoo...

Yup yup outside earlier today mowing the lawn in shorts and working up a helluva sweat.

Ah, to be in Scotland, sitting by the fire, wearing a sweater, sipping hot tea and listening to all those wonderful accents....

Instead, I'm roasting, sipping at iced drinks with a fan spinning in every room. And the heat has brought out the giant insects. We've a moth that's taken a fancy to our porch, it's so big I swear it's gonna fly across the Pacific and attack Tokyo.

We hit all of 41 today, rainy, gloomy, with flurries in the forecast again tonight.
I can't wait to move away from here.

It's been a beautiful English spring day. Blue sky, with a gentle cold breeze.
Where's my Coffee ?

Temperatures cooling down, and no sign of the giant moth. I think Dr. Dolittle flew away on it.
