Someone suggested adblock, and that's what I use for the once-in-a-while way too squicky avs.

I keep sigs off because some of them go on for a mile...

Bear, at least you use safari, don't you? IE has become... better. But all the better it's become has been by lifting elements from firefox. And that microsoft link means IE will never get rid of the corporate slave stuff. And it's some of that corporate slave stuff that makes it and your PC so insanely vulnerable to viruses etc.

Raging head cold. Get them every five years or so--this one from too much mingling at a book festival, I think. Dragged to the computer in the middle of a sleepless night to cancel all my Sunday activities and looked in here--and saw some obviously real-life avatars of folks who I pictured much (much) differently. I would have preferred not being enlightened. Not all, of course, and some have had real-life/closely representative avatars long enough that I do picture them that way.

I'm not much into avatars anyway. (And wouldn't know how to post one if I knew where to get a good one--that wasn't covered by someone else's copyright).
