Joe, the former plumber, just can't seem to get any love or respect. Especially from the Media.
Ya know, I understand that, historically, little known, average folk have now and again done something that got their names into the newspaper or the public eye, and, thanks to that unexpected moment of fame, perhaps moved into a new profession. I believe the movie Meet John Doe is all about that, isn't it? And I understand the presumed appeal of Joe, at first, when it was thought that he was a plumber and was asking an honest question of Obama, and, therefore *seemed* to be speaking for small business folk who felt they might be screwed by new taxes.
But at this point, I'm completely lost. I don't get it. I mean, he's not a plumber, he didn't have a business that was going to be taxed, he wasn't named Joe...wouldn't that give someone pause before giving him a platform? But okay, fine, he's got name recognition; still, wouldn't it make sense to have him investigate and/or pontificate on taxes or small businesses or the hardships of the average guy?
But...sending him to report on the war in Gaza????
Can anyone explain this?
