Brit School ‘Moves’ XMas For Muslim Eid
December 3rd, 2008
It’s that time of year again.

From the UK’s Telegraph:

School cancels Christmas nativity in favour of Muslim Eid celebrations
A primary school has cancelled its Christmas nativity in favour of Muslim festival of Eid celebrations because it would be too much for the children to do both.

By Nick Britten
03 Dec 2008

Greenwood Junior School sent out a letter to parents saying the three-day festival of Eid al-Adha, which takes place between December 8 and 11, meant that Muslim children would be off school.

That meant planning for the traditional nativity play were shelved because the school felt it would be too difficult to run both celebrations side by side.

The move has left parents furious.

Janette Lynch, whose seven-year-old son Keanu attends the school, in Sneinton, Nottingham, said: “The head has a whole year to plan for Eid and so she should be able to plan for both religious festivals.

“I have never heard of this at a school. It is the first year my son has been there and a lot of the mums like me were really looking forward to seeing the children in the nativity.”

She said a letter, sent from “The staff at Greenwood Junior School’, said: “It is with much regret that we have had to cancel this year’s Christmas performances. This is due to the Eid celebrations that take place next week and its effect on our performers.”

The school is to hold a number of children’s Eid activities for those pupils who do not take two days off to celebrate with their families.

Following outrage from parents, the school was forced to send out a second letter saying that the Christmas play would be done in January.

Sent by the head teacher, Amber Latif, and Yvonne Wright, chair of governors, it apologised for “any misunderstanding” but said it had to respect “the cultures and religions of all the children”.

It added: “The Christmas performance has not been cancelled outright but has been postponed until the New Year.”

Parents said they were originally told the performance was cancelled because children wanted to celebrate Eid with their families at home, and planning of the school year made it difficult to move performance dates to another week.

Sajad Hussain, 35, of who has two children at Greenwood Junior, said: “My children will be off for the two days next week to see their family.

“It’s not that complicated; they could have one event on one day and another on another day, they should have both celebrations at the school.

“If you do not have both it becomes a racist thing and that’s why you have to be careful If an issue is made out of it, it could become nasty.”

Yesterday, a statement issued by Greenwood Junior, said: “We would like to apologise for any confusion caused as a result of [the original] letter we sent out and would like to reassure parents and the community that Christmas has not been cancelled at Greenwood Junior School.

“For very practical reasons we have taken the difficult decision to re-arrange some significant events on the school calendar to ensure maximum pupil and staff attendance.”

Muslim prayer rooms should be opened in Catholic schools, say church leaders By Simon Caldwell

Muslim prayer rooms should be opened in every Roman Catholic school, church leaders have said.

The Catholic bishops of England and Wales also want facilities in schools for Islamic pre-prayer washing rituals.

The demands go way beyond legal requirements on catering for religious minorities.

But the bishops - who acknowledge 30 per cent of pupils at their schools hold a non-Christian faith - want to answer critics who say religious schools sow division.

The recommendations were made in a document, Catholic Schools, Children of Other Faiths and Community Cohesion.

'If practicable, a room (or rooms) might be made available for the use of pupils and staff from other faiths for prayer,' the bishops said.

'Existing toilet facilities might be adapted to accommodate individual ritual cleansing which is sometimes part of religious lifestyle and worship.

'If such space is not available on a permanent or regular basis, extra efforts might be made to address such need for major religious festivals.'

The Islamic cleansing ritual, called 'Wudhu', is carried out by Muslims before they pray.

Islam teaches that Muslims are unfit for prayer if they have not performed Wudhu after breaking wind or using the toilet.

Wudhu involves washing the face, hands, arms and feet three times each, gargling the mouth three times and washing the neck and inside the nose and ears. Some Muslims also wash their private parts.
Catholic schools would need to install bidets, foot spas and hoses to facilitate such extensive cleansing rituals, Muslims say.

Daphne McLeod, a former Catholic head teacher from south London, said it would be 'terribly expensive' for the country's 2,300 Catholic primary and secondary schools to provide ritual cleansing facilities.

She said: 'If Muslim parents choose a Catholic school then they accept that it is going to be a Catholic school and there will not be facilities for ritual cleansing and prayer rooms.

'They do their ritual cleansing before they go to a mosque, but they are not going to a mosque.

'I don't think the bishops should go looking for problems. Where will it stop?'
But Majid Khatme, a Muslim who sent his children to a London Catholic school, said he was delighted by the gesture.
'It is very kind of the bishops if they give this facility for Muslims to pray,' he said.
'I would love to send a letter of thanks to the bishops, really. If they do this all Muslims in Britain will be thankful to the Catholic Church to have facilities to pray. It is very, very encouraging.'

The recommendations have been approved by Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Birmingham and the favourite to succeed Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor as Catholic primate.

But it would be up to governing bodies of each school to decide whether to act on the guidance.

Why would anybody want Muslim payer rooms in a Catholic school?

That's just stupid.

Formally

Formally known as England? Really? I thought it was formally known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Oh, you meant "formerly". And cuntry? I'll give you this one as an intentional misspelling of country. It seems as though your spelling skills are as fuzzy as your logic.

Yer an idjut.

Of course it is.

But common sense has bit the dust in the UK.

Political correctness rules.

Fuck, the Muslims don't need terrorists, they're doing Okay via the PC tool.

notice that moving the Eid festival wasnt an option…..Yeah, let everyone in this Christian country move their traditional Christmas Celebration to make room for a ritual animal sacrifice honoring a murdering thug and his cult. Yeah, that’s doing everything to make sure nobody is offended, isnt it?

The school did the math….let’s see now, forcing Christian students and parents to have their religious celebration go unrecognized….. what will happen? You have disappointed kids and parents, a few letters of protest, and lots of harbored resentment. Ok, that’s doable.

Ok, lets try to change anything that may offend muslims….such as wearing a wool scarf, commenting on the weather, asking a student to build his bomb vest off school grounds, reading a book, or having the temperature of your car heater set on “medium”…..but try to change any muslim religious observation and ok, lets see now, what could happen? Hundreds of cars set on fire, death threats to the school’s administration, huge protests calling for the butchering of infidels, mass rioting, property destroyed, people killed, mayhem, chaos, and an entire country threatened with ongoing jihad terror attacks.

So yeah, the spinelss wimp micro winky school administration did what they thought they had to. They didnt want to die, or rebuild the school, or be responsible for entire neighborhoods going up in flames or the deaths of innocent people. They had to choose which religion would react in the most negative manner. So forget the vicious cruel Christians! Instead, bow to the religion of peace.

I wouldn't put it quite like that, but living in a muslim country it is very obvious that NO concession is made to non muslims - even a modertate Islamic country like Qatar, and everyone else accepts it when they come here. So for instance during Ramadan it is illegal to smoke in public during dayligtht hours.

The UK should stop this stupid idea of multiculturism. There is and will never be any such thing because minorities will always want more than is offered. If muslims want to live in the UK they need to learn to live with the society that is there - not try to change it.

I'll be coming back to the UK for Xmas and will celebrate arriiving with a bacon butty - first one for 8 weeks because it is illegal to import pork here. I knew that when I came here so I'm not complaining.

MPACUK Will No Longer Condemn Terrorism
World | Mon, Dec 8, 2008 at 3:06:25 pm PST

Britain’s looniest radical Islamic group MPACUK comes out in favor of terrorist violence, and posts a video of Black Panther Stokely Carmichael to illustrate their point: MPACUK - Understanding The Philosophy Of Muslim Violence.

MPACUK, unlike the many other Muslim groups out there, have not just pioneered the best solution against any terrorist attack in mainland Britain (i.e. get the mosques and ISOCs to teach democracy) but has now embarked in cutting through the media propaganda to reach British Muslims, and hopefully non-Muslims, and informing them of the true nature of Muslim violence.

We know it will get us in trouble with the media; make us targets for the government elites who want to hide this from you. We are prepared to pay the price. Most Muslim groups in the UK are still silent, or worse apologising, so they can get the ‘moderate’ medal of dishonour from their masters. We prefer the truth - no matter what they call us.

We realised that until the public understand why many in the Muslim world are reacting so violently to them, they will neither know the cause of the deaths of so many innocents on both sides or know how to solve it. We simply no longer feel that the most vocal parties who claim to be countering terrorism are sincere to the very cause they talk of.

We will no longer be part of the deliberate attempt to keep the public confused on the issue of terrorism. We will not be part of the apologetic Muslim leaders who blame their own community for terrorism. We will not condemn, nor allow ourselves to be condemned by governing elites who are more interested in a political stunt than saving lives. No more politics and propaganda when it comes terrorism - its the truth and nothing else.

Scroogistan

Here, via the Daily Telegraph, is another great multicultural moment, a pronouncement from one of the UK's more prominent (and obnoxious) Islamic extremists:

"Every Muslim has a responsibility to protect his family from the misguidance of Christmas, because its observance will lead to hellfire. Protect your Paradise from being taken away – protect yourself and your family from Christmas."

Who knew that mince pies could be quite so dangerous?

Most Catholic schools are open to all faiths, even atheists. But if my daughter's Catholic school opened a Muslim prayer room I think it would be her last day at that school.

Do Muslim schools have Catholic chapels? Didn't think so.

Child Abuse in Koran Classes
World | Wed, Dec 10, 2008 at 9:34:33 am PST

Shocking stories are emerging of child abuse in the unregistered and unmonitored radical Islamic madrassas of Pakistan...

Oops. Did I write “Pakistan?”

I meant Britain: Teachers ‘beat and abuse’ Muslim children in British Koran classes.

Muslim children are being beaten and abused regularly by teachers at some British madrassas - Islamic evening classes - an investigation by The Times has found.

Students have been slapped, punched and had their ears twisted, according to an unpublished report by an imam based on interviews with victims in the north of England. One was “picked up by one leg and spun around” while another said a madrassa teacher was “kicking in my head - like a football”, says the report which was compiled by Irfan Chishti, a former government adviser on Islamic affairs.

Almost 1,600 madrassas operate in Britain, teaching Arabic and the Koran on weekday evenings to about 200,000 children aged from four to their mid-teens.

While there is no hard evidence to indicate how many are involved in the physical abuse of children, The Times has uncovered a disturbing pattern in one town - Rochdale - through interviews with mainstream school teachers, Muslim parents and the children themselves.

One woman told The Times that her niece Hiba, 7, was slapped across the face so hard by her madrassa teacher that her ear was cut. It later became inflamed and she had to have emergency medical treatment.

When the teacher refused to apologise, Hiba’s aunt, Jamila, insisted that her niece should be moved to another madrassa. “I have absolutely no respect for religious teachers who behave like this,” she said.

Another girl described how, at the age of 12, she was hit by her madrassa teacher whenever she mispronounced a word or forgot a verse of the Koran.

When Imam Chishti, a religious education teacher who also runs the Light of Islam Academy in Rochdale, decided to carry out his own investigation into the problem he was shocked by how even the victims had grown to accept the abuse. “They all joked about it,” he said. “There’s a culture that accepts it.”

Hate to burst your bubble, BB, but hack papers always run these fairy tales at this time of year.

It's a seasonal attempt to create racial and religious hatred. As traditional as the Queen's speech, the New Years Eve family punch up and alcohol poisoning.
