Yes, it is. We Brits understand sarcasm and ridicule (at least some of us do).

The Telegraph expects its readers to react by criticising the idea that not wanting spicy food is racist. Most very small children, of any race or culture, prefer bland foods before gradually developing a taste for more flavour.
