Why? Why God? Why do you piss on England every Summer?

Not only England, but Wales, too.

And no doubt Scotland.

And Northern Ireland.

I've got 17 mates coming to meet up with me at the weekend, from all corners of the UK, and no doubt it'll be pissing it down all weekend. Ah well, we have a huge holiday home here in the South of England, with sauna, games room, etc... I'm sure we'll all make our own fun. ;):D

This earth of mudjesty, this seat of marsh...
This blessed splot, this earth, this realm, this England.

You guys have the best poets.

Damp, is it?

He had to go.

Oh, that's a good one, sarahh!

Last time I was in England it was misting rain and a little less than 40 degrees F. And I saw people out in the Mall, strolling about with their dogs and all, altogether acting exactly as if the weather was decent.

Carry on.

Rocket? No, I'm just glad to see ya!

This is what drove the British to conquer the world......

I have dubbed this phenomenon the "Meteorological Imperative".... The innate need to go someplace where the weather will be better.

:D

But you miss the point. Some of us PREFER the weather like that. My wife doesn't. But I lived in Seattle for 24 years in large part because I adore the weather, which is very much like England: gray, cloudy, clammy, rarely warm, and generally unpleasant by most people's standards. Me? I loved it to bits.

I start getting SADD if I don't see the sun for too many days running.

Well wasn't it ? - Mind I have noticed that Sydney in Winter is sunnier than England in Summer. On June 21st the temperatures were the same.:)

That's because winter is late this year. Only got cold with snow threats yesterday.
