Happy 2008 everyone. Feel free to post your resolutions here, maybe just writing them down will help you keep them, or maybe we can support each other as we work to meet them.

Here's mine.

Join the triathalon training group and do this year's "starter" triathalon.

Keep in touch with my family and friends more. ( I will call mom and dad bi-weekly, and my siblings monthly).

Go for more walks in the country. (or skates or skis on the lake, depending on snow level) This means I will see my friends more too.

Organize my "city" office/project room.

Update my business goals and meet them. Obviously I can't list those but let's say there are 4 major goals that will require loads of work to meet.

And of course, lose 10 pounds.

Anyone else?

1) Lose weight
2) Work on self esteem issues
3) Attempt to further myself writing wise

1. get in shape. Not lose weight (I've given up on controlling those ups and downs), but I want to be soft yet firm everywhere.

2. take my photoshop hobby to a professional level

3. play with lezli ;)

Here are some things I want to do;

1. Force myself to get out and meet more new people
2. Be more hopeful and positive about life and less cynical
3. I too would like to force myself to work on learning more about Photoshop and photography
4. And like most others, get more exercise

My biggest problem doing all of this is being too laid back (a nice way to say lazy?)

Im very lazy myself, but I find that working in photoshop to be so gratifying that it overcomes my intertia.

None. I do the better the moment I know better. Whether it be for me or for the betterment of those I love....So I guess its safe to say I don't believe in res.

Although, I would like to score points with lezli soooooooooo
My resolution is to be more spoilt.

Vail_I,
Photoshop is an amazing program. I have been shooting with a film SLR for quite a number of years and have been waiting and waiting until the digital SLR's were both cheap enough and advanced enough to jump into that. Finally got a nice digital SLR and it is amazing. Finally I can afford to take enough shots to learn to be a better photographer. And just the little I've done on Photoshop is truly amazing. Now, I'm signed up for a Photoshop class from a local photographer and looking forward to meeting new people and learning more about photography (so, I'm well on my way to making some of my resolutions a reality!)

What type of photography do you hope to be pro in?

Strangely enough, I'm not that interested in photography itself, though I think I should be. Not completely true. I like photographing models in intere3sting settings, but I'm not comfortable using my friends or looking for models, y'know?

So, for now, I'm just all about the software

Yeah, I think I know what you mean. Some of the best shots I ever got were of just normal (but unusual) people that one sees in everyday life. Only problem with that is the issue of model releases and all if you ever want to do anything with them. I actually have a great opportunity to capture some images of interesting native Alaskan folks, but again - what to do with them w/o the release? And I would love to do some nudes, but how does one find models ?(seems like an ad saying "old pervert would like to photograph naked people" might not get too many results - LOL)

Do you have a web site with you work yet?

Not yet. I've mostly played with my own pictures, and I'm helping out a couple other people while I try and build a porfolio.
Really, I'm aiming low for now. I'd be happy getting enough work doing touch-ups (removing objects, things like that) to make a living. Once I'm doing that, I think I'll be able to find a photographer to work with and design pictures with (or, really, make my own images in photoshop...)

I don't know about where you live, but here in Anchorage any kind of Photoshop training is hard to find - perhaps that might be something you can add to your services as you get more proficient.

I fear that we are hijacking the thread (sorry), so I'll just say that's it's a pleasure to meet a fellow "Photoshoper" - perhaps you will start a Photoshop Thread? (if not, please feel free to PM and we can talk "Shop")

But not me? I'm crushed at the indifference shown towards my sweet personality (how 'bought I just take pictures as you two "play shop"?

I just did a search for "photoshop", "digital photography" etc. but didn't find anything but actual photo posting threads (and of course I don't look at those type of things). If you happen to run across the "Photoshop Thread" would you post it back here or PM me with it. Bound to be some good advice/info on it. Thanks

Hi bibear-sorry to be rude earlier-didn't mean to ignore you, it's just when there's a pretty gal about sometimes I lose my manners:eek:

As to the photo thread I no longer have the link to the one I used to visit very occasionally but I did check, if you go the the Author's Hangout Forum, at the top you will see a sub-forum called Visual Arts, click on that and you will be in a land of photos and art. Some of it even good. I know somewhere there is an Altered Images thread too-just remembered that. That could be good for photoshop afficiandos.

My New Years Resolutions:

1. To lose weight, and stop eating so much crap.
2. To stop spending so much time on the computer, and to get out more.
3. To be a better lover, and a more considerate man.
4. To get a decent threesome or two going.
5. To finally get a hard cock between my lips.

My new years resolution is (as always and as for alot of people) first and foremost to lose a little weight and secondly (because I am young and didn't have to learn on one) to learn to drive a stick shift since now it's my only mode of transportation next to walking or bus...

I've not really made one, but I really should try and get back into writing.

And I want to read 50 books this year.
