very sad news. that makes it at least manslaughter plus robbery. (not sure where the kidnapping comes from).![]()
I voted for life without parole as a more significant punishment than years as a privileged prisoner on death row.
He should never be allowed back on the streets.

I agree totally with the last sentnce, but I think the best wy to keep him from ever being a free man is to off him, and the sooner, the better.Do you really believe that scum like this shold be allowed to live?
Treat him as the rabid dog he is.
IF the death penalty was carried out as it used to be in the UK - within 48 hours and with very little scope for a stay of execution - then I would have voted for the death penalty.
How many prisoners are now sitting on Death Row and have been there for years? How many lawyers will make money from the multiple appeals process allowed in the US? How long will the families' agony be revisited after every appeal?
If the death penalty meant death within a couple of days - then yes.
It doesn't. It is now a long drawn out procedure played out with massive media attention; a circus that concentrates on the offender's rights and ignores the victims and their relatives.
Life in a severe prison, without parole and preferably with hard labour is a greater punishment than the death sentence as it now exists.
Or why not have some Extraordinary Rendition to a third world jail where he will be the target of all the other prisoners and have to face jailers who couldn't care less about prisoners' rights?

I posted another thread where the contestant hurts guards every time his lawyers bring him to town for an appeal. He has 2 life sentences and nuthin to lose by killing or hurting guards or inmates.
