Had a good conversation with someone who works in secondary education tonight.

I can’t account for the truth of it. But she said that states, even 25 years ago, were paying 80% of the cost of state institutions. Now, they pay 20%. All the extra cost has been passed on to the students paying tuition and the federal government.

I’d just never heard that side of it before — assuming it’s true at all.
