Trump's Shithouse

When ya don't use taxpayer money ya don't need bids, ya don't need GSA and ya don't need NPCP authorization.

BUT BUT BUT CRITICS!!! Trump will submit renovation plans to the NPCP for review as a courtesy.
Where do you get that they are not using taxpayer dollars, traitorous dipshit?

And what kind of businessman doesn't get competitive bids for a multi-million dollar demo and new construction?

You really don't get it.

I kind of like the idea. A worthy place to entertain dignitaries. The Renovations aren’t costing the taxpayers a cent. I’m afraid you’re coming across as a Trump hater, shame on you, you’re better than that. :D
What has trump done in life to make you think this isn't just an ego stroke for the rich elite?

The charities he took money from?
The wives he's cheated on?
The fraud convictions?

According to recent economic data we are experiencing robust growth and low unemployment numbers. GDP growth could top 4%

🙄

Search Assist

The projected GDP growth for the United States in 2025 is expected to be around 1.7%, with some forecasts indicating it could be as low as 1.4% in 2026 due to various economic pressures. Factors such as higher tariffs, reduced immigration, and elevated interest rates are anticipated to weigh on growth.

Adding a ballroom to the white house give the present and future presidents the ability to entertain dignitaries with class. You suffer from TDS, nothing new there.
I suppose they could use a ballroom or something so they don’t have to drag out those lawn tents, though I guess they see them as some old school charm or something. But as usual, trump does his typical ridiculous outsized garish fuck customary procedures look at me thing.

trump gives zero fucks about all that anyway, and the orgs probably has nothing to do with funding but with architectural continuity and integrity. The orgs will probably see plans after he releases his taxes.

Whatever floats your boats. It's entertaining watching leftist loonytoids go through a complete meltdown over a freebie. More TDS on steroids, comical.

So I guess your knowledge is limited to what you can copy and paste from quick web searches?

Anyway, thanks for mentioning President Truman. He was insistent that as little damage be done to the structure as possible. So much so, that when large heavy machinery was needed for the structural repairs, and workers wanted to dismantle an outer doorway, Truman had them break the equipment down into parts, take them through the door and reassemble them inside instead.

Apparently Trump the "builder" is even less competent than Trump the "executive"!

I knew a lot more than you did. I knew that just about every President has made changes to the White House. I just didn't know the particulars off hand. You obvious knew nothing.
The devil is in the details, as the saying goes, which is why you missed so much with your casual web search.

It's true that changes are made to public buildings from time to time. Nobody disputes that. But your President doesn't own the White House. The President doesn't take out a mortgage before moving in, and can't sell the place when moving out. As the example I gave you about President Truman shows, previous Presidents recognized that fact and did not make changes without consulting the owners, that is, the people and their elected representatives and the relevant government historical preservation commissions.

Trump doesn't care. Of course he knows he should. That's why, before the demolition, he stated "It won't interfere with the current building. It'll be near it but not touching it." But he can't help himself.

As you can see from the wreckage, that statement was a lie.

So if George Soros brought construction workers to your house, ripped off the garage and replaced it with small mosque with murals celebrating Mumia Abu-Jamal and Assata Shakur, you'd say, "Thanks for the freebie!?

Unlikely.

More likely you'd complain, "George Soros doesn't own that house, so he can't do that!"

Donald Trump doesn't own the White House. He's just a tenant with chintzy taste.

But you're OK with Obama's basketball court that cost taxpayers 300+ millions.

George Soros isn't living in my house.

False equivalency.

Here's the truth about the Bush-Obama renovations:

". . . Congress approved the funding in 2008 following a report by the administration of then-President George W. Bush, and the renovations aimed to upgrade the building's aging infrastructure, according to the news reports.

It's misleading to suggest Obama personally "spent" $370 million on White House renovations, as some posts claimed, as Congress approved the project's funding during Bush's time in office. . . ."

So let's not hear any more about some "$300 million basketball court" mmkay? This is a politics discussion group, not a place for fairy tales!

As for who's living in whose house . . .

George Soros doesn't OWN your house, so he can't trash it without permission from the owner.

Donald Trump doesn't OWN the White House, so he can't trash it without permission from the owner.

And who is the owner? Didn't you decide, back in 1776 that you didn't want a king, but a republic?

Your not the brightest bulb are you. Trump is paying the tab, Obama didn't.

Since Trump is paying the tab he doesn't need congressional approval for funding. Doesn't need oversight from GSA. The white house, the Capital and the Supreme court are exempt from federal review for renovations under section 206. Get a life!

"Paying the tab" means he can, for instance, bring in some chintzy desk that he himself paid for and put it in the Oval Office.

But does that mean he can feed the Resolute desk into a wood chipper?

If Biden was doing this you'd be dancing in the streets. Hypocritical.

I doubt Biden (or anyone else) would be so crass as to demolish part of the White House while people are having their healthcare cut and air traffic controllers were being forced to work without pay!

But if (hypothetically, in your fever-dream universe) he were to have attempted to do so, I doubt anyone would be dancing in the streets!

I expect if Moslem terrorists had hit it with a plane on 9/11 you wouldn't have been saying that!
