I know a few guys who have been working the oil fields in the Bakken Formation. From what they've told me, its very very lucrative, but not many last for long. Hard, dirty and relentless work. Especially during a boom. Only 1 of the 6 people i know, made it more than 10 months, and he stayed for 18. Made shit loads of money, but came back fucking worthless and blew every last dime. That was in the North Dakota area. I can only imagine the extra difficulties working in Alaska.Don't know, but with the OT, it's likely pretty substantial.

This is different work from what you see on "Landman". Mostly all construction. A different mindset.I know a few guys who have been working the oil fields in the Bakken Formation. Maybe when i was in my early 20s, i could of made it a year, but now? Fuck that, I'm about 20 years past that opportunity. I get pissy when i have to work 5 days in a row!
Summer is over and golden leaves are blanketing the lawn. I'm sure the driveway at the cabin is full of them.Packing up the Summer Camp![]()
Basically.. its easier when just work all the time and cant spend it.
Yup, but after 3 weeks working 12 hr days, ya get that stare on your face and you become a safety hazard. The statistics say safety incidents go up after 14 days, but after 21 days they skyrocket.Basically.. its easier when just work all the time and cant spend it.
Oh yes. I assume swing shifts make it worse.Yup, but after 3 weeks working 12 hr days, ya get that stare on your face and you become a safety hazard. The statistics say safety incidents go up after 14 days, but after 21 days they skyrocket.
Swing shifts? These are 12 hour shifts. Only 2 shifts in 24 hours.Oh yes. I assume swing shifts make it worse.
People get complacent
Everything has a day. Where is Happy Lisa Day?Happy James Bond Day!
We have 4 adults living here and it still isn't too bad. I try not to leave my clothes until the last minute. Like now, my light color shirts needs washed but I'm not going anywhere soon so I'm open to washing anytime really.Sometimes it sucks that I have to share the laundry room.
Sharing with family is fine. I'm not all that thrilled sharing with others. And I only do laundry twice a month. We have 4 adults living here and it still isn't too bad. I don't mind it with my roommates for some reason. Maybe cause I like them and we respect each other??? I'm not sure.Sharing with family is fine. I'm not all that thrilled sharing with others. And I only do laundry twice a month.
That always helps.I don't mind it with my roommates for some reason. Maybe cause I like them and we respect each other??? I'm not sure.
