Indeed. If the Ak Gas Line is really going, there's 7000 jobs coming up. A red state, but you can tell people to fuck-off.I would have to downsize a lot

Mine is home. Most of the folks who vote red weren't born here. They are boomers, and not the gen-type.I live in a red state. Its wasnt what I expected
Like Minnesota?I was in Canada last week and begged them to annex Alaska to be their 14th Province/Territory.
No, but they have good neighbors to the north.Like Minnesota?![]()

When the local economy gets poor, many decide to go "home". I don't have anyplace to go, so I just make it work.I dont like boomers

The stuff that you get for working the boom. What money
Thanks dadI am right here!
What boom? The stuff that you get for working the boom.
Currently, the oil companies are spending $3B - $4B a year developing new infrastructure on the North Slope. Good people are hard to find. It's hard to believe, but they are bunking translators up there because that where they can get people. What boom?
What they paying? I need a vacationCurrently, the oil companies are spending $3B - $4B a year developing new infrastructure on the North Slope. Good people are hard to find. It's hard to believe, but they are bunking translators up there because that where they can get people.
If the AK LNG line goes (which might be a 50:50 thing now, best it's ever been), there will be a huge boom.
Don't know, but with the OT, it's likely pretty substantial. What they paying? I need a vacation
Usually is.Don't know, but with the OT, it's likely pretty substantial.
And people will piss it away.Usually is.
I know a few guys who have been working the oil fields in the Bakken Formation. From what they've told me, its very very lucrative, but not many last for long. Hard, dirty and relentless work. Especially during a boom. Only 1 of the 6 people i know, made it more than 10 months, and he stayed for 18. Made shit loads of money, but came back fucking worthless and blew every last dime. That was in the North Dakota area. I can only imagine the extra difficulties working in Alaska.Don't know, but with the OT, it's likely pretty substantial.

This is different work from what you see on "Landman". Mostly all construction. A different mindset.I know a few guys who have been working the oil fields in the Bakken Formation. Maybe when i was in my early 20s, i could of made it a year, but now? Fuck that, I'm about 20 years past that opportunity. I get pissy when i have to work 5 days in a row!
