LGBTQIA+ Daily Vibe II

Just realized they placed me in the "self harm" room post-op. WTF? I'm starting to, uh, getting a bit anxious. Maybe I am overthinking it. They did give me metal cutlery with dinner. But still, WTF?

I’d see that as a privilege- all that extra attention! Besides there’s plenty states that regard the operation as self harm so there’s that 😁 Sounds like it’s all done 🥳🥳🫶🏻👯

My old therapist retired and I have been reluctant to see a new one. She was very understanding. ...I'm afraid to see a new therapist as she might think I'm some kind of weirdo.

It would be nice to talk to someone about this sissy persona, but I'm hesitant to reach out.
If you're in the US, you can go to the Psychology Today website and search for therapists in your area.
  • First, put in your zip code, and a list of therapists will open.
  • Next, click on the button that says “filters.”
  • Then scroll down to “specialties”, and click “show more.”
  • Finally, scroll way down that list. Near the bottom (it's alphabetical), you'll find “sex positive/kink allied.”
  • Click that filter, and (hopefully) some therapists will pop up.
Good luck! ( Hint: the lists seem to be relatively localized. If you don't find anyone at first, try entering a different zip code that's close enough to be accessible to you. Also, some therapists will work long distance.)

I like this thread because of honest accounts like that, Zrosey.

I recall the first posts of StickyGirl that I read and her sense of relief just to be herself. Something so basic and honest as that has become so rare on Lit.

These are uplifting stories for everyone, not just for trans people.
Thanks @coati
I'm glad you find some of my posts uplifting! Sometimes I'm left wondering how they can come across as positive cause I'm def not always feeling that way.
This country is on the edge of classifying trans folk as a terrorist threat! We are demonized as violent perverts. After the event in Utah everyone got to watch as the administration and all its cult has stretched reality to somehow implicate transgender people as the villain.
Scary stuff! This is what gets people killed!

The reality is, transgender people are just people, so some of us will be criminals just like the cisgender population! But of course it will be blown WAY out of proportion to fit the right wing narrative.

I don't mean to be a downer writing this stuff out, guess it all is part of "honest accounts" and how I feel sometimes.
I very much appreciate voices here at Lit that ally with queer folk. At times this can be a weird space for me to be in, I mean it is a sex forum and too often queers I think are viewed as fetish vendors. But like I said, this is a sex site and I try to not be judgey on others.

Hope this didn't come off as a rant, cause it wasn't meant that way!

I don't care so much about posts being positive as I care about them being honest.

I find that honesty on this thread.

Well, we're back from our week in Scotland but I've managed to turn a sniff into the plague :( Not covid, but I did check... but I've just found conjunctivitis in one eye, ffs.
It's that horrible shivery/giddy feeling in your chest that gets worse as the day goes on. Grrr! Double Grr because we did healthy things, like watching seals and taking long hikes and eating well. I howled at the seals, which got their attention.

Anyhow bf told me I need feeding up and bought steak, which was very kind of him, but I struggled to finish. I'll probably look back at this is a couple of weeks and wonder why I sounded so pathetic!

I may have a hot bath before bed. So

Wearing: lots of warm fleeces but not pj's just yet, 8pm.
Mood: annoyed

Oh no!!!! This is such a a rotten way to end a fun trip!
Of course myself and likely lots of others here on vibe, along with my friend J reading over my shoulder....send get well wishes to you SG 😘
Glad your partner is taking good care of you 🌹

Even so, sounds like it was a beautiful trip, I mean can it get any better than howling at seals an long hikes?

Vacationing in Hawaii this week at a timeshare owned by my wealthy in-laws. I feel so out of place among the super rich, but there I was having dinner at restaurant at a resort shopping mall with stores the likes of Rolex, Tommy Bahamas, Lulilemon…

All of the women servers were in short black skirts, all of the men were in long black pants - in tropical muggy weather! I was just saying to my wife how it seemed unfair until I noticed an obviously AMAB bartender in heels and a miniskirt, then clocked a cute trans-femme server.

It was so nice to see such a high end place being open to non-cis employees even in this age of regression.

Imagine that. Some American businesses still recognize workers for what they can do instead of enforcing some bullshit political agenda. 🙄

I’m going back there later this week in my cute pleated mini. 🥰

Listening to the waves crash, wondering if I’ll be too jet lagged to sleep in past dawn again. 😅

Thank you. I've got the medical ball rolling - just back from the pharmacy with eye drops and I've an urgent docs appt at 3pm... but that was because I went to the surgery in person - trying to phone them on a Monday morning is a waste of time. I already feel better because I was stressed about getting seen.

The Hebrides are unique: not as stunning visually as the west coast or Skye, but there's a beauty in its wildness. They have their own language and everyone knows each other. Because the surnames are so common ( MacLean, MacNeil ) then people have nicknames like Floyd, Onnie, Bona. Most of the roads are single track with passing places so you get used to pulling over, let them through with a wave. Everyone waves whether they've stopped or not.

You're such a tart! I'm sure you look fabulous 🥰

I know for certain Hawaii is a lot warmer that the Hebrides! We did have one warm day, with temps around 18c.... which is mid-60f. Have a blast (y)🍍🏊‍♀️

I contracted pink eye on my first long flight to Cairo. I fell asleep in a window seat with my left eye socket against the back rest.

I finally went to a tiny pharmacy in Cairo. Unable to speak Arabic, I just pointed at my eye. The pharmacist nodded, grabbed a step ladder, and retrieved a dusty box from.a high shelf. The drops worked within a few days.

All for less than a few bucks USD. No doctor. No prescription.

Seals are cool. I'm glad you had a good trip.

Ta muchly. The doc told me to toughen up girrrl and let it run its course... come back in a week if you're not improving ...or dead. I bet if I'd have seen a man he'd have been more sympathetic ;) I mean, she was nice enough, so.

Going through my pics and notes, I realise I'd seen Hooded Crows - I thought the local crows looked odd. Oh yes, yes, we saw a golden eagle hovering near the airport. It wasn't a buzzard! Never saw the northern lights though I did go outside at 4am one night, but it was kinda inconclusive.

Up before dawn again. ☕️ Going for a morning hike in the jungle before the day gets warm.

Current temp: 71.6°f. 22°c.
High forecast 81°f. 27.2

Ocean water temp: 79.6°f. 26.4°c

Haven’t seen much sea life yet. Maybe later while surfing. 🏄🏼‍♀️

Back home in north California the water is ~ 60°f. 15.5°c. We go kayaking a lot and see harbor seals 🦭 , sea lions, sea otters 🦦.

I saw these guys sunning themselves last weekend, got too close and they all barked at me. 😳

And yeah I’m a tart. 🥰 I like wearing wetsuits more for the aesthetic than for the cold. 😅

Golden eagles are sooo fun to watch! There is a eagle nest not far from here, and I love watching them come an go.

Hooded crow— I had to look it up. Where I live, we only have the American crow. Very closely related, apparently— but all black.

Golden eagles are so impressive. I've seen them in the Pacific Northwest. They don't live in my part of the country. Supposedly, they do pass through during migration, and I have seen eagles during migration season— but much too high to identify.

Packing my bags, getting ready to travel over to the big city. I'll be out for about a week, not sure how often I'll stop by, so y'all take care.
Rest up stickygirl, and listen to your doctor!
And CC, hope your healing is going well. Here are some flowers for you 😊 💐
