🎵 Monthly Song Challenge 🎵

@Wonderer67 same. I can’t even quote your message to reply because that page is stuck in an endless auto-refresh loop.

I think maybe the solution is hyperlinks only? I hate clicking links and opening new tabs and all that but the glitching is so fucking frustrating.

If you are referring to me, then I submit that both of my clips are of the same song, by the same band.

The first one is the song in its entirety, for everyone's listening enjoyment. The second clip is the scene from the movie in which it was featured.

Well, I have found that the glitching problem is usually resolved with a new page and we seem to be on a new page.

Day 13: A song by an artist local to where you grew up
From Waitsfield, Vermont (I grew up several towns over, but pickings are slim where I'm actually from).
"Paris (Ooh La La)" - Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

Day 13: A song by an artist local to where you grew up

Fun prompt. Only slightly dangerous for those Internet stalkers 🤣

I grew up playing basketball with Delta. We were on different teams and were always guarding each other. She's not only a ridiculously talented musician, she's athletic and downright lovely human.

Hearts On The Run - Delta Goodrem

I'd encourage loose interpretations of "local" and "where you grew up." Unless you're like me and have basically come to terms with the fact that I'm going to be blackmailed or doxxed or murdered anyway, so I might as well have some fun with it before it happens.

Day 12: A song that makes you think of a specific movie/tv scene

Jesse’s Girl - Rick Springfield

Boogie Nights. Such a wild movie and scene. I love how bath robe guy calls him Ricky Springfield and dances along before shots are fired.

Day 13- A song from an artist local to where you grew up
Living close to Nashville there are a LOT of artists I could choose from. I decided to go with a lesser known artist that actually lives in the same county.

Day 13: A song by an artist local to where you grew up

Not from my hometown, but close enough that they made a lot of appearances there.

"Gotta Keep a Runnin'" -- The Godz

Day 13: A song by an artist local to where you grew up

I grew up all over Southern California so I had a lot of options. I'll pick a really obscure one 😁
Verdi's La Traviata, "Addio del passato" - Marcella Craft

Day 13: A song by an artist local to where you grew up
The most famous is Ritchie Valens, who was born in Pacoima, CA, a town that borders the city in which I was born and grew up: San Fernando, CA.

Ritchie was not just a great songwriter and singer, but his lead guitar playing was advanced and nuanced for the era, just as Carlos Santana's was more than a decade later.
